This month, every platform except the Wii saw small to large growth.

PS3

The PS3 continues its usual dominance of the Most Wanted Feature this month, with over 300 points, or over a third of the point total. Also normal this month is the PS3’s combination of a few outstanding titles and a sheer breadth of content, with over 30 titles gathering votes for the platform.

Let’s start with the obvious. The Last of Us is a titan on these charts, with nothing coming close to it. The second and third most successful games combined barely manage to top it. This one title alone manages to garner nearly a quarter of the PS3 points, or almost as much as the entire Xbox 360 platform.

Other major PS3 titles are notably lower than The Last of Us, with none gathering even a third as many votes. However, Beyond: Two Souls, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and God of War: Ascension all managed to slide into the Top 10. Other notable titles include Assassin’s Creed 3, Ni No Kuni, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Okami HD, and Grand Theft Auto V.

One interesting thing to note is how Sony takes up a large portion of Publishers’ points on the system, with over 40% of the points being for Sony games. About half of this can be attributed to The Last of Us, but even excepting it, two of the top three PS3 games are from Sony. Although Nintendo is still the king of excluding 3^rd parties, PlayStation 3 developers seem to have quite a bit of competition.

3DS/DS

The 3DS had a healthy rise over last month, even discounting the presence of a major DS game on the list, and especially noting that New Super Mario Bros. 2 is now off of it. Nintendo handheld games were almost as big as PS3 games on the top of the list, swiping three of the top seven slots.

Two games closely competed for second place: Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Fire Emblem: Awakening. Both of these titles saw significant gains over last month, and together account for over half of 3DS points.

Also of note is Pokemon Black/White 2, probably the last DS game we’ll ever see on this feature.

Only three other 3DS games were hits, but two of them were from third parties: Bravely Default and Monster Hunter 4, two games from Japanese developers. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is the remaining Nintendo game.

Titles that did notably poorly include Animal Crossing, which is coming out next year, and Professor Layton 5, one of the remaining major games for the 3DS this year.

Wii U/Wii

The Wii U is dominated by two major titles: New Super Mario Bros U and Pikmin 3. Both games saw major increases over last month, possibly due in part to NSMB2's release. The third and fourth most notable Wii U titles are, notably, not from Nintendo. They are Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 3 and the potential sleeper hit ZombiU. Other than these games though, the Wii U lacks much in the way of an anticipated library.

PC

The only two notable PC titles were the multiplatform Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2.

360

Much like The Last of Us dominates the PS3, the 360 is dominated by Halo 4. THe main difference: the 360 pie is much smaller, leaving the other 13 360 games to chart with only 50 or so points between them.

Vita

Vita points DOUBLED Month over Month, thanks in large part to a new title, Tearaway. However, the system remains weak, with only Tearaway proving to be a major hit on VGChartz.
