Forums - Gaming - Why Do You Loathe Apple Anyway? Apple Hate is TOTALLY Out of Control!

It's not about their products. They're all great and useful. It's just the way that they protect their business which is a bit overdone, and uneccessary.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

Okay, one thing I do want to mention is I'm tired of the "Inferior HW at a higher price" thing.

Okay, I'm no tech wizard and I hardly care about power, but I'd take iPhone's intuitive and easy to use design than Android's clunky and unfriendly interface any day. MacBook Pro is expensive, but I adore it. It's really intuitive and easy to use, the programs and Apps work amazingly well. I think it's good for people that can spend a little more.

I think people are picking on them for not using the "best" physical specs. But, when you put it all together, Apple's products can be just as faster or faster than Android or Windows. It's because they make their hardware and their software; it just works.

There is some truth to this. However, how much difference does it actually make? For instance, a Nexus7 that costs only $200 performs on par with an iPad3 in benchmarks (nearly all apps run perfectly too).

I don't personally "hate" apple. And I agree that most of the hate they get is unjustified. All I have is a first generation iPod Touch for my car.

Mac OS and iOS are their own thing. Some will like it and some will not. It's all about preference so it doesn't mean any other OS is terrible all because you don't like it, or because it wont do what you want.

I wouldn't agree that Apple products are generally "way" overpriced. It's only particular products that are somewhat overpriced such as the MacBook Pro and the Mac Mini. However, their products definitely are quality built. They look very nice, have up-to-date hardware, and run fine.
Not to mention that even within Windows computers, and Android tablets and phones, and even televisions, you have the "cheaper" manufacturers and the more "high-class" manufacturers. If you want it, and can afford it, then why not? Even if it means knowingly ripping yourself off.

Where I definitely agree, are their business practices. The whole patent lawsuits are ridiculous. Also, what's with them cutting off Mac computers just a few years old from getting a new OS update. I have windows 7 running on an old HP tower with a Pentium 4. Finally, there whole Mac vs. PC marketing was over the line.

Last of all, maybe out of shear coincidence like (many) others have noticed, I do notice people blindly buying or upgrading their Apple product, just to have the latest and just because it's Apple. From a psychological and philosophical point of view, that is egoistic materialism.

I believe most people are talking about Apple computers when they talk about inferior hardware at higher prices.  And it's pretty much true.  A good argument can be made for Apple laptops, but no one in their right mind is likely to buy an Apple desktop.  It's literally the same hardware as a much cheaper Windows PC.  If you want to spend the same money, the PC you could get would be much superior in terms of performance, and that's with all brand-name, high quality components.  We aren't even talking about the same stratosphere.  You can get a 6 core i7 PC for less than a 4 core i5 from Apple.  Yes, it's a person's choice if they want to overpay, but there is also nothing wrong with other people pointing out the facts.
