Short story short: School just started and I need new music to enable me to focus on my homework for longer than two minutes. I've already listened to most songs that recur in your standard "video game music recommendation" threads ad nauseam, so how about we dedicate this thread solely to game music that doesn't come up as often as it should. That means no Dancing Mads or One-Winged Angels, no Zelda's Lullabies or Midna's Laments, no Snake Eaters or Dr. Wily themes (unless it's like from Mega Man 4 or 5 or 8 or something. But why would you post anything from Mega Man 8?). I want none of that.
Here's an example, since well, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and all that shiz.
The Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring, largely composed by Chance Thomas and Lennie Moore.
Hornburg
Anórien
Mordor
Mirkwood
Osgiliath
Minas Ithil
Make sure you watch the videos to the end, since they also include an "Eeeevul" alternative to the regular theme, as well as kick-ass battle themes.
Maybe it's just because I watched the movies like a motherfucker as a kid, but I prefer some of this stuff to most of Howard Shore's compositions in the film trilogy. No, really.
