Forums - Gaming - Which is better, Demons Souls or Dark Souls?

I played and finished Dark Souls, but never played Demons Souls.

Those of you who have played both, which game is better in your opinion?

i'd say they are about equal overall.

demon's souls is probably harder overall now that dark souls was patched to nerf a lot of things. i really liked the persistent overworld thing they did with dark souls but towards the end of the game (where shortcuts were less frequent) it was kind of annoying to repeat areas again and again. demon's souls you could warp into any area you wanted which was kind of nice. and i preferred the body/soul form in demon's souls over hallowing in dark souls ... it just felt like there was more to distinguish each form and you had more motivation to go into one or the other at times. also, the few cuts scenes there are in these games were done better in demon's souls. i will never tire of watching the fat official get impaled.

okay, so maybe i have a slight preference for demon's souls. still pretty equivalent gaming experiences.

i found the first one btter marignally, i feel the second one has too meany cheap shots and needs more "wait and see" than a natural flow in battles.
They are both great tough.

Demon's Souls is a lot better than Dark Souls. I got the platinum trophy for both games wich says a lot.

Dark Souls seperates the men from the boys, Demon's Souls seperates the men from the gods: I found Demon's a lot more difficult than Dark.

Both games are way better than any rpg released this gen though, a lot better than those overhyped flood of mediocrity.

I would pick Dark Souls.
At first I was skeptical about a open, inter-connected world instead of the Nexus, but it worked really well. Also, I didn't summon at all in Demon's Souls, whereas in Dark Souls, it's encouraged and makes things more fun, especially 2 on 2 invasions. I put way more hours in Dark Souls as I had multiple builds for singleplayer, coop, and PVP. (About 300hrs) Easily better game imo.

Two masterpieces.

About equal in their extreme quality but Demon's Souls wins thanks to (even) better atmosphere and for being harder. I love that they paid homage to Oblivion though by making Dark Souls more open world.

You mean Kings Field, I dont think From ever cared about TES.

Demons souls is better, Both are great but I found demon souls more of a challenge.

Demon

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

No, I mean From. In several interviews they complemented Oblivion in the context of making Dark Souls more open world.
