Download the TSL 1.8 Restoration Content Mod, it adds a lot of Restored content 99% good stuff... Kaevee being the only bad thing they added that comes to mind imo.

Anyone interested in the TLSRCM 1.8 version, here's the link: http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=31930034.
I already downloaded the game yesterday, even though I have it on CD. The reason being is that the Steam versions (at least for KOTOR was) are much more stable than the crappy CD ones for Win 7, I've been playing it for a couple of hours without any kind of CTDs or Driver Has Stopped Responding crashes.

It's good news to see the game release of Steam, although it isn't as good as KotoR 1, it is still a very good game and with the restoration project its even better! :D
The best Star Wars RPG or game for my money
Gonna buy this all day

You just convinced me to skip on this
Here's also a list of great mods that are also compatible (and some not so much) with the restoration mod: http://deadlystream.com/forum/topic/393-mod-compatibility-list-for-tslrcm-18/.
Here's the Widescreen patch also: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=202242

It's still a good game!! :(
But if you didn't like KotoR 1 nothing here is going to change your mind, the engine is the exact same so it doesn't look any nicer, the plot isn't quite as good (but if you've played KotoR 1 you know it can't be ;)) and it is no were near as polished as the first game, but still worth a Steam Sale buy imo :P
Less then a month after the fan made patch that adds in most the lost content and fixes all the buggy problems and plot holes.
Feels like more then a coincidence to me.

Widescreen patch not recommended with 1.8 TSL (I've used it and by the people that worked on TSL).
All the widescreens are cracked 1.0A which work but some of the fixes are dependent on the exe of 1.0b patch, swoop racing is unplayable, and some other things with stretched portraits.
You can use it however because I did in 1 of the 2 playthroughts in the last month or so.

I like the plot and characters a lot more in this game :P... The gamplays not near as polished (though there are some neat things in TSL), and on PC the graphics look worse and widescreen stretches GUI, because they're console textures (bioware made higher res for KOTOR 1).
