I don't own a Vita, but I do own a PSP and I don't agree with you. My PSP library is mostly full or ports/remakes and has very little new games. Of the new IP's almost everything is a sequel to a console franchise (Valkyria Chronicles), similar to other types of games (Jeanne D'Arc), a handheld version of a PS3 console franchise (Resistance) or a Final Fantasy spinoff (Crisis Core).

With my DS I have my share of ports/remakes, but I also have unique handheld experiences with games like Pokemon, Advance Wars, and Fire Emblem (which is much better on handheld then on consoles, and feels at home here). I also have a slew of different types of games from 999 to Infinite Space, to Zelda, to Radiant Historia, to Golden Sun, to Soma Bringer (english Patch).

Oh, so then you must own games like monster hunter freedom unite, patapon, fftactics, tactics ogre, lumines, mgs:peacewalker, Half-minute Hero, every extend extra, where is my heart, corpse party, third birthday, gods eater, disgaea, super stardust, wipeout, valkyrie profile,...

And do not get me started on your DS list. Look man, I'm not a hater, I've owned a DS, but your list is very hypocritical to that criteria you put against psp.

Also, you did not mention games like Ouendan or Devil Survivor or Etrian Odyssey, so I don't think our taste in games matches up very well in the first place, especially when you simultaneously shit on Jeanne D'Arc for being "like another game".

I really, really dislike Monster Hunter and just don't get why it's popular. As for the other games you mentioned, half are ports/remakes, and the other half are nothing special. PSP does have a great selection of games, and you know it's really a matter of preference in the end. To me DS has more, and better, new games (but PSP has more remakes/ports).

However, you can't argue the appeal of GBA. DS is backward compatible with GBA and I think GBA has the best handheld library ever.

P.S. Jeanne D'Arc, I love it, but it just makes me want to play Fire Emblem lol! It's not that different from FFTactics and Fire Emblem, and I'm an FE type of guy.

Take a look at my PSP game collection, all my games are up to date (except I think I got a couple more DS games now). I count 11 games which aren't ports, and most of them are sequels or handheld versions of console games. Jeanne D'Arc, Tales of the World, Trails in the Sky and Crisis Core are probably the only uniquely PSP game which I own. As for DS I have at least a dozen, all great. Infinite Space, Pokemon, Advance Wars, Radiant Historia, SMT: Strange Journey, 999, Soma Bringer, Golden Sun, and I'm thinking of Importing Tales of Innocence (there are fully working patches).

Also Suikoden is a great DS game worth noting, but it's not that different from the console games, so I didn't mention it above.

Yeah, it seems like just a difference in taste.

I loved pokemon 15 years ago. Don't really have that same feel for it anymore, just feels contrived.  Advance wars I liked, until I realized it was basically a puzzle game. The other games are good, and there are lots more, but DS always felt limited to me. It was like, ok first level is this...these are probably the same textures I'm going to see throughout the entire game.

While I do think DS is the better system, for a variety of reasons, DS to me is all RPGs, and turn based rpgs, with a couple creative games here and there like Ouendan, layton, and phoenix wright. I also picked vita as one of my picks (which is the same with psp) in that I have browser access, movies, music, etc. I picked SNES as the "limited" console, but it has some of the same shortcomings of DS. I mean, SNES' best library is almost entirely RPGs. If I didn't pick SNES, I would pick DS. I just think SNES is a better overall system.

PS2: best console evarr
PS3: 2nd best console evarr
PS1: 3rd best console evurr, rpg console
Vita: Gravity Rush and plays PSP games so 4th best console

You have herd of backwards compadibility right?

why waste two slots when they can be used for other stuff and more games.

For me it be

Wii  - for Wii and GCN games

PS3 original - PS3, PS2 and PS1 games

3DS for its backwards compadibility.

3rd party all in one  NES-SNES-SEGA machine that plays all regions hahaha or perhaps be more devious and get an android device with emulators and a MHL HDMI to TV adapter..

PS3 60GB model
PSP
NES
DS

If it's based off games exclusive to that console generation only? No bc.

PS3
PS2
PSX
GBA

The three console Playstation systems pretty much beat anything else out in terms of favorites, but It's almost a tie between the PSP and NES in my opinion. I've got a lot of favorites on both systems. But wait. The GBA comes in and beats them both out. It's more of a best of both worlds type of thing, as I have favorites on the NES that I don't want to really give up due to the limitation of the list, and the GBA has most of my NES favorites plus good alternatives over my PSP games.  If I had one more choice it'd have been PSP/NES instead of GBA.

I would pick PlayStation 3 only, it is enough.

What's wrong with Advanced Wars being a puzzle game? Crush is also a puzzle game and I love that.

I was off Pokemon for a long while, but someone convinced me to get Black/White and I got re-addicted. The plot is a bit more sophisticated then before, and the level of quality is much better then the other GBA/DS expeditions.

Anyway to each there own, I am glad i got a PSP, only bought mine about 6 months ago. Good point about graphics, but when it comes to a game like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars I can live with repeated textures.

Gameboy SP
3DS
PS2
...probably wii u

Excluding the PC (of course):

Wii (Wii games, GC games, and VC)

DS Lite (DS games and GBA BC)

SNES (Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario World , and Donkey Kong Country 1-3)

PS3 1st gen (PS2 and PS3 third party games)

Might change depending on the Wii U
