Will have to get my Amazon account ready for pre-ordering Wii U stuff that day too.

Same here.  I'll have a tab open to Amazon during and after the conference and I'll be working that refresh button.

My predictions:

Launch date:  11/11/12 (two days before Black Ops 2, which will also be officially announced for WiiU).

Launch price:  This one's a bit tricky.  We've seen Nintendoland advertised as a separate game in the Gamestop promos, Amazon Germany, and EB Games Australia, so the evidence points to a separate release.  Maybe $249 for just the console?  We'll see.

Either way, whether Nintendoland is bundled or not, the WiiU console won't retail for more than $299.

Now, thats something to look forward to. Finally! The presentation better be BETTER than their E3 press con.

dont reject the 350 pricepoint yet, specially with a game bundled....

Some guesses:

- price will be $299, NintendoLand bundled with every system
- release date November 11
-they reveal their achievement/trophy system
-NSMB one of the launch titles, Pikmin 3 is not
-Demonstration of a game where the Wii U and 3DS work together
-They reveal a few more games, maybe at least one of them being quite the surprise

There's no reason for Pikmin 3 to not be a launch game, unless they just want to release it in Spring to have something to release in Spring (which is quite possible. That's what Nintendo did with Super Paper Mario, make a late-term GC game into post-launch filler for Wii).

So yeah, it's a possibility.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If the console retails for $299 and Nintendoland is sold separately, the price still comes to about $350 for both, as you said.

However, I don't think that Nintendo will put a $349 price on the console, whether it comes with a game or not (i.e. they'll leave a bundled game out altogether to avoid that, IMO).

Of course, I never thought Nintendo would launch a handheld for $250 either, but they have reiterated numerous times now that they've learned from the 3DS' pricey launch, as well as stating to the media that we will be "pleasantly surprised" by the WiiU's price.

Wii U? still sounds kind of cheesy.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

^ what does the 'U' stand for anyway?

its stands for "Unimaginative name"

Other than that, it just stands for "you"

as in "you" have the Gamepad, so everyone else doesn't have as much fun.

They know a new 2D Mario sells lots of systems, so I guess they want it at launch, but at the same time the game might (or will) get in the way of Pikmin 3 at least trying to shine a little, maybe it´s better to save it for later (2-3 months later).
