If the console retails for $299 and Nintendoland is sold separately, the price still comes to about $350 for both, as you said.

However, I don't think that Nintendo will put a $349 price on the console, whether it comes with a game or not (i.e. they'll leave a bundled game out altogether to avoid that, IMO).

Of course, I never thought Nintendo would launch a handheld for $250 either, but they have reiterated numerous times now that they've learned from the 3DS' pricey launch, as well as stating to the media that we will be "pleasantly surprised" by the WiiU's price.
