Forums - PC - iN-FocuS (PC Edition): ROUTINE

Looks good. It's going to have to compete with Dead Space three, and Metro Last Light though around that time.

Looks interesting

It could be interesting but it looks pretty generic so far to be honest.

Thought this might receive a tad more attention. Ah well, that's the consequence of creating something new and fresh this late!

It's a thread for a PC indie game that no one has heard of with a generic name, in a niche genre. That is basically the worst combination for attention on this forum. Hell my hype thread for War of the Roses, a much more mainstream game with over 100k people in the closed Beta after 8 months has only hit 41 replies half of which are me. Replies from 3 different people after 3 hours is pretty good considering.

You are just not going to get a tonne of attention for threads like this unless you start an arguement with someone, or use an infamatory title to draw in viewers.

Ah, read the OP, my friend. This isn't a hype thread.

Besides, everyone has to start somewhere. Something may appear to be "generic" (although I don't really see that here, it isn't X fps in the genre trying something done a million times over), but that doesn't mean the end result leaves it that way. In all honesty, I think the fact that it isn't comeing to consoles is why much of the attention is swayed elsewhere, I forget that, despite the good amount of PC fans we have here, they are vastly outnumbered. That and your last sentnece fits in with what I've been saying about this community for quite sometime - unless it's a flamebait issue (i.e., a known naysayer of one brand starting a negative topic about said brand, or a topic that was designed to start an argument), then the topic hardly gets much response.

I'm all for making people aware of things they may not have cared for/been aware of (obviously, most people didn't care about Heavy Rain when I first got here, among other things), but it is what it is is.

I know it's not I was pointing out that even a thread I have been updating for 8 months on a PC exclusive hasn't managed to draw that much attention. And I said the name was generic not the game. Rutine doesn't really evoke anything about the game, it's just a word. Usually it's a good idea to add something descriptive in the title, like "- a indie sci-fi horror adventure" or something.

as for the flamebait thing that is true of any community, it's just this one iis pretty small, especially on the PC side. A post about a game on gaf like this may draw a dozzen people, but a flaimebait one could draw hundreds the difference is the GAF community is 20x the size so even a small % is renough for a decent amount of interest and conversation.
