At least I wasn't very excited for this one.

After the original shock, the whole thing smelled iOS from a mile away, tbh
Same background, remixes, reveal over a site, not at TGS, etc.

The whole portable gaming market is on a downward spiral that makes me really sad.

The sooner the mobile market crashes, the better imo (might be a bit harsh, but this will only add to the number of analysts claiming that handhelds are doomed, and developers might actually start listening to them)

Capcom is making an original Mega Man game for iOS, Square Enix is porting one of their most critically acclaimed recent projects to iOS -- developers are already listening, what more proof do you need?

Hopefully there is more to this announcement. iOS port isn't that big a deal. Not big enough to warrant this kind of crazy awesome pseudo-viral stuff.

The sound a whoopee cushion drew me to this thread, but I quickly realized that that sound was actually a lot of people's hopes and dreams deflating like a balloon.

Way to go, Square Enix.
