My Wal-Marts HD DVD sale rack has been shrinking every week, and they no longer have the HD DVD players in the store, so I'm betting it's true.

Its a real shame... HD DVD was a better format tbh and it showed so much potential... but its basically dead :( ah well, not really bothered... At this rate Blu-ray will prolly die out too tbh.

Lastly, Wal-Mart was the first place to kick off the $99 HD DVD player deals. They are purple - they are in it for the benjamins. |
I agree completely, this would be everywhere if it where true the guy just flubbed a line and said wal-mart instead of target.
@Ehsteve lol true maybe its their british wing/section?

how do you get rid of stock that you won't be selling anymore? ridiculously low prices? hmm...
I just wonder, to the average person, how much better Blu-Ray is than an upscaled DVD.
Heck, to be honest, I can't usually see the difference in poor quality video tapes off of TV and a DVD movie.
That points out two things. Many people right now still have SDTVs (or less). And people whose eyesight isn't perfect aren't going to notice the imperfections of existing technologies as much as the cost of new technologies.
By 2020, Blu-Ray will be the standard that DVD is now. But probably not much before 2016.
