Are we all failing to realized that Memory Cards are not mandatory by any nature of the word? All the games that are being bundled won't require one as far as we know so the system is completely functional right out the box.

This is all for a great value of $249.

If gamers want to be able to download games/apps, the lowest Memory Card(4GB) is only 20 dollars more. Should that be cheaper? Yes, but its really not hair splitting worthy.

Yet I guess if they really want to market all the handheld's functions....it should come with a game and at least a 4GB to get everyone started.

You need a memory card to save on.  Therefore you'll need at least a 4GB one to play anything.

You only need a MC for SOME games that are too big for your file to fit on the game cart. From what I've heard, none of these are like that.To my knowledge only a few games were like that, Uncharted comes to mind, everything else you can save on the game cart.

Sony is just going to have to accept low sales for the next few months and then ride out the holidays.

But seriously, what is up with the bundling? They are going to literally bundle all 4 titles positioned to boost Vita this year? Doesn't that negate some of the sales they need from software or am I missing something...?

Expensive memory card = stupid

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Well, having 4 games guaranteed to hit millions sellers is great on the resume.

"it's too early" is a poor translation. it more literally translates to "we can't afford to".

These aren't the only ones. There's also ones for Fifa 13, Lego Lord of the Rings, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

If there was built-in flash memory (any amount, really) and no proprietary cards, there would be no talks of a price drop. It's just an asinine way of confusing consumers and unnecessarily inflating the price of the the Vita. As well, it was even more idiotic not to add PSP backward compatibility. Aside from their nice software lineup by the end of the year, it's like they've been trying, up to this point, not to sell the thing.

perhaps another coffin nail for vita. hopefully not, don't let bigN dominate portable consoles.

Were you also the same guy saying the same things back in 2007 about the PS3? Don't flame by calling it another nail in the coffin. Atleast Sony is not in a hurry to do a panick pricecut wich will result in them losing more money like it happened with Nintendo.

Why is a price drop so suddenly frowned upon like it's a bad thing?

For the record, Nintendo was in A LOT better position to take a lose on a price drop than Sony is - which is probably the only reason why Sony haven't dropped the price of the Vita yet.

Are these "panic" bundles then?  Cause the Sony is in a worst position with the Vita than Nintendo ever was with the 3DS.

Revenue... certainly not profit.
