Forums - Sony - Sony rules out Vita price cut in 2012; says "it's too early"

Let the bundles do the work. If it does not, then cut the price next year.

And did not they say that the the Vita's targeted market is PS3 owners? I think they are giving already working on that by cross-buy feature.

perhaps another coffin nail for vita. hopefully not, don't let bigN dominate portable consoles.

Were you also the same guy saying the same things back in 2007 about the PS3? Don't flame by calling it another nail in the coffin. Atleast Sony is not in a hurry to do a panick pricecut wich will result in them losing more money like it happened with Nintendo.

i wasn't even registered in 2007... why are you writing such nonsense?

and why do i flame? i just posted my opinion and don't need your permission for anythiing.

the vita is too expansive and sony, well, tries to push proprietary storage *again*. bc also only for digitally bought games - fail.

but as always is your post biased when someone posts "against" your *holy cow*.

as said, i hope they change the storage to standard-solutions and make the thing cheaper. another way would be to leave "holes" for hackers, helped the psp...

Am I the only one not surprised about this? The thing is not even a yr old.

I'm not surprised either.

Plus from an executivies point of view they have a huge amount of software being released from sept to december and it's the holiday season. A price cut hurts their bottom line, and with the pressure they have to be profitable, selling a small amount of Vita's is better than twice the number of Vita's at half the profit.

As you can see, neither was I, you dont even understand what I'm saying. Implying Vita is dying and putting another nail in the coffin is just flaming. Don't pretend like you care for the Vita, we all know you don't.

When you see how much dropping the price of the 3DS cost Nintendo, I don't blame them. Nintendo had cash to burn to establish the 3DS, I'm not so sure Sony's gaming division does.

Essentially what I was thinking ...

While Sony isn't nearly as in as bad of a position, and they have substantially different problems, there are similarities between the position Sony is currently in and the position Sega was in with the Dreamcast. Basically, the underlying financial position of a company limits what they can do and can force them to do things that go against their long term interests. Right now Sony can not afford to drop the price of the PS-Vita, and can probably not afford to money-hat publishers to secure additional high profile third party exclusive titles ...

don't pretend you are talking as "we", whoever this may be. but this is getting too personal - in the future don't reply on my posts, please.

Well the holiday bundles will be $250 and come with a game and a memory card, so one can understand why they don't feel like doing so.

The bundle only comes with the system and game. They took out the memory card for whatever reason they didn't give.

Also, the latest bundles don't show it either. Don't know why they won't include it. It would've been perfect.

So, why the sudden removal of the memory units?
