Essentially what I was thinking ...
While Sony isn't nearly as in as bad of a position, and they have substantially different problems, there are similarities between the position Sony is currently in and the position Sega was in with the Dreamcast. Basically, the underlying financial position of a company limits what they can do and can force them to do things that go against their long term interests. Right now Sony can not afford to drop the price of the PS-Vita, and can probably not afford to money-hat publishers to secure additional high profile third party exclusive titles ...
