So I just rewatched the trailer.

1) Its definitely Wii engine material. That's all they did. They took the Wii engine and made a game for Vita. Interesting though that its limited to 8 person max online. Doesn't Wii and the rest of the consoles do 24... or is it 12?

2) The beginning of the trailer clearly says "Vita Exclusive". Now that could still be timed, but I'm betting that since its the only portable with standard dual analog, its truly exclusive.

However, you're right in there is nothing there the 3DS couldn't do... or even most high=end phones/tablets.

there isnt a Wii FPS out there that has 24 people playing online, not even close. I dont remember is the earlier CODs had this, but the last one reduced player count from 10 to eight, which makes sense if they are in fact using the Wii engine

I thought COD and Conduit all had 12v12... but a little research shows I just got confused. They (both conduits) have 12 players total for 6v6. Guess if new COD on Wii are down to 8 then it makes more sense and must be Activision limited not hardware/network.

They probably reduced it to help with the things like lag and what not. They were limited on WIi.

this is going to save the Vita so no way would Sony let it go multiplat!

;)

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Is true that Nihilistic is doing the game?

Just to let you guys know, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 had 16 v 16 multiplayer matches. I knew a couple of folks who swore by the game during the Wii's early years. However, servers were shut down a year ago.

If it's made by Nihilistic, I do not think it's going to be on 3DS.

Possibly.

I think it was just a bad port... i.e. cash-in. Maybe built initially from whatever engine they use in Wii cod titles.

But, Activision has yet to mention anything cod + Nintendo related and this cod was never said to be exclusive, I don't think.

So its very possible that it will be on both mobile platforms and possible iOS/Android latest stuff in the near future. Tegra3 stuff looks as good as that or better. I'm positive the iPhone5 and 2013 Androids will match Vita's hardware. So this could just be Activision planning ahead.

I agree this looks like a cheap port, especially compared to Killzone Mercenary. The most likely solution is that they make another similar spin off for Nintendo, but Sony aren't stupid, they probably have some sort of spin off exclusivity agreement for a bit

I don't think that phone games will actually be able to match this for a few years, I don't think iPhone 5 will match the Vita and Android's lack of optimisation will hold it back. But Activision could certainly do better if they tried properly

I think on the box art it says "only on playstation". Anyways, if I used that logic, then MH4 should be on Vita.

Actually MOH heroes for wii had 32 player online back in the early days of the wii. Granted the game did not have amazing visuals the online was very good with no problems as I played it myself. This also made me realize how 3rd parties were Bsing the system, I never fully new whether it was the actual system fault for poor online or as people have said all along lazy developers.

Did it really? Oh man, I forgot about that game. I had that game for PSP and I quite enjoyed it. Did it run well? i can see why servers were shut down, barely anyone bought it.
