I think he means LittleBigPlanet 1 only. (Including the free downloads from the outage). We have the LittleBigPlanet series at well over 9 million.

maybe he just meant the console versions, add them both they near 7.6 million sales. and vgchatrz has proven to under track games alot (god of war and uncharted for example) maybe littlebigplanet is a well
