I'll keep my reply short and relevant to OP. I think Paul Ryan is a smart guy. However, I think he also costs Romney Florida, and by consequence, the election.

If the Democrat campaign can successfully depict Ryan as a "killer of seniors", and "destorying their security", and majority of voters in florida believe that then yes Romney-Ryan will lose it for sure.

Funny part is Paul Ryan's mother is actually a senior aged 78 living in Florida on Medicare. So its still pretty hard to paint him as someone who "could care less about the elderly." Interesting enough the plan he was advocating in congress made no changes to medicare for those who are aged 55 and older. People younger than that then get more choices on their future benefits/securities instead of automatically forced into the government medicare plan.

It will be interesting to watch what happens.

I think it's been well documented that Ryan's bill is unpopular to the general electorate. I think it's hard to argue that his plan is serious when it does balance the budget until around 2030 at the earliest. Imagine how much his vouchers will be worth then due to rising healthcare costs. I won't say he is wrong for attempting to deal with the problem. But surely we can find a more serious and realistic approach to strengthen Medicare for the future.

Know this was a great choice to lose. LOL. I'm so happy he decided to choose mister Paul Ryan. Sara Palin all over again.

Obama will win and also I think dems will win back the house. However The national dems need to take a look at the Vermont progressive party.

Paul Ryan is going to put to light the greed and selfishness of the REPUBLICONS PARTY. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

The problem isnt so much medicare as it is healthcare costs in general.  Medicare wouldnt be such a black hole of money if healthcare was cheaper.  Ryans plan is to use competitive insurance plans to drive down insurance costs, but that just ignores the main problem.  Insurance is only one part of the problem, the actual cost of healthcare is too high and that needs to be addressed as well

If they let that happen, then they deserve to lose. It's pitifully easy to counter.

Dems: "PAUL RYAN WANTS TO END MEDICARE AS WE KNOW IT AIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Ryan: "Obamacare already ended Medicare as we know it."

I will say this about Paul Ryan though.

He isn't Joe Biden.

Joe Biden just said something that even in context sounds like he''s arguing the republicans and banks want to put people back in chains.

He said this in a southern district that's like 40%+ Black.

The Ayn-Rand-reading man who was once accused of "right-wing-social-engineering" by none other than Newt Gingrich?

Jackpot pick, Romney.

Yep good old ayn-rand who took government assistance in her 70's along with her husband, which she was so against. WTF!!!  She also believed in sleeping around and not staying faithful.

This is great Paul Ryan has been selected. LOL. Oh man the right wingers on this site do not understand that this exactly what obama needed.  This might even have lost control of the house for them as well. LOL

I don't know,  Erksine Bowles seems to like it... and he was Bill Clintons Chief of Staff. (So a Democrat.)

SO its links you want. I'm glad you got moderation status. I will just not comment, all links. Peace to the person who deserves a moderate position the least.  You are going to post non stop fanatic right wing news, go ahead. I can post too!!

I mean, you CAN argue that Paul Ryan's budget doesn't balance enough quick enough.

However in to the other 3 candidates running in this election he's WAY out ahead when it comes to a realistic and cost saving plan.

Outside Simpson-Bowles, it's the only plan looking to save ANY money so far.

Obama and Romney's plans both suck and Biden...

well he's Joe Biden. If Joe Biden was a woman he'd probably be regarded about the same as Sarah Palin. Stupid gafs tend to get ignored more when your a man though.
