Forums - Gaming - Crysis 3 - Most technically advanced game yet? New trailer

I laughed out loud at the "top secret tesselated toad tech" part. xD

But yeah, this seems like the most advanced game graphics right now. I really can't wait to see what U4 will bring to the table when applied to actual games, next to Cry3. It will be interesting to see those engines (or maybe Cry4? who knows...) duke it out in the coming years.

Yes! I looked away for a second, came back to that, and had to watch it again.  Great tech and a since of humor - now I'm interested in playing Crysis.

Plus, things will look even better on Unreal Engine 4.

And as far as memory - remember consoles use it more efficiently than PC's.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

The OS isn't nearly as beefy, for example.  Heck, Windows 7 needs almost 2 full GB of RAM for himself.  Say that the current sweet spot is now 8GB all you want, the truth is, you don't have much more than 6 when all is said and done.

if next gen consoles can do graphics like that at launch then im gonna be buying a PS4 day one!

Holy shit in HD the trailer is insane

Further proof of just how badly we need new consoles the gap between PC graphics and consoles is becoming huge

Yeah but only a few developers can afford to produce games that look to good for consoles. The need is there, but isn't that huge.I expect new consoles in 2013 but we can't leave out the option that they may just wait until 2014.

Very impressive... though the ways the bird and the butterfly moved were kinda jarring.

Looks great, but the artstyle of Crysis still looks so bland to me. I want to see other games than Crysis using this tech.

Well there is Homefront 2 and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2...

This is good but, I am really not seeing this as a leap over current gen games. If this is all we can expect from next gen consoles, I really hope they continue to support PS3/360, because that is not worth the price of admission.

With the 8 year gap between the 360 and it successor I expect a leap in tech that is larger than any we have ever seen in the console industry. If these rumors of 4GB, and 8 core processors are right, I don't know why we did not see these consoles last christmas.

A console launching next year should have at least 6GB and 12 cores, with 8GB and 16 cores being the sweet spot. It should also have a GPU of near top end specs from this year. If MS and Sony do not step forth, I will be done with the big three. Samsung and apple will send Andriod and iOS device to market that will destroy a cheap half baked next gen console in no time. Plus they will focus on much more open platforms, and much better multi-tasking.

This is from Ubisoft:

Guillemot, according to a report from CNBC, estimates video game budgets will "average $60 million to make" next gen, when Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo issue successors to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii.

The Ubisoft head honcho says that Ubisoft's plan to help defray some of those costs would be to reuse computer generated assets from Hollywood features, something the company says it's doing with James Cameron's Avatar."
