He he ho ho. Very funny mario. Hurt like hell.

How long did you leave your hand under the warm to hot water? Don't be a wimp Spurge, it hurts at first but it gets much better the longer you do it. :P

I know some of you are in medical school, what can I do to stop the burning!

Trust me on this one. Run it under the warmest water you can or take a hot shower. The hotter the better imo. As someone who has gotten burnt by grease before I have learned that aloe, cold water, ice, burn spray, etc. is not as affective as hot water. No, I am not joking. Try it and share your results.

Do that then after a few hours run it under cold water again

If the pharmarcy section of the local groceries don't have aloe gel, try health food shops.
It should also be edible, but that's mostly as laxative that makes you poop.

Try and find some Oxycontin.

Yes the world needs another person wrongfully strung out on Oxycontin.

If the pharmacy doesnt sell Aloe Vera gel, you shouldnt be shopping there.  Aloe Vera is a wonder of natural healing.

Also, avoid wetting at all if you can. Your excuse to skip showers.
Don't use rubbing alcohol to disinfect. Try something gentler like Witch hazel.

Cold water or ice is the only thing that really helps. You just have to live through it. I used to work at a glass shop and we used hot butyl (400 degree F) to seal insulated glass units. It came out of a gun type thing and if you didn't move fast enough it would run over. Natural reaction is to wipe it off so I did a number of times. So first you get butyl (400 degree F) on one hand and your second reaction is wipe it off a second time but this time from your hand. So now you have butyl (400 degree F) on both hands and you just have to sit there and let it cool off. When it's cool you peel it off skin and all.

It's not like I'm the only one that did it. Everyone in the shop had done it a few times. You still feel stupid and have to work with burning hands. It gets better after the first day and by day 3 it's a lot better.

pics?

Morphine

Well it's so late now but immediately after it happened the best thing to do was to just hold it underneath cold water for literally AGES (possibly half an hour or more)...it would prevent the burn from getting worse and by then the pain should've gotten less. Then ice pack. Then ointment/aloe vera etc.

How did it happen?

If the pain worsens or stays etc go to a Doc.
