| Marks said: 1. Too many stupid gadgets (like the weird thing at 0:37) that are just annoying gimmicks 2. Riot shields still in the game? Why? They were pointless in MW2 and will be pointless now. 3. Way too many killstreak spam (obviously it's just a montage of everything but I can tell it will get annoying) 4. Knife melee is still just one click of the right thumbstick at 1:22, maybe they "dulled" it down and it's only a slash (no lunge) but from what I saw there's no noticable change...and the knife has been one of the biggest complaints since CoD4 5. Overpowered shotgun at 1:43 (looked either full auto or very fast semi-auto), I'd rather shotguns be very powerful and pump action (or a slow semi-auto) than low range but retardedly fast rate of fire 6. Seeing through walls at 0:22 and thru smoke at 0:27? Please tell me that's some sort of UAV type killstreak thing you have to earn and not just a cheap perk which obviously everyone would use. Geez I know I sound like a pessimist but after buying 4 copies of CoD4, World at War, 3 copies of MW2, 2 copies of Black Ops and MW3 (some of those were used, not all new) and playing a good gotta be 60+ days including Nazi Zombies I think I get the right to be critical of this series...unlike the Battlefield fanboys who just blindly trash it and say "same as last year" even though BF3 looks the exact same as Bad Company 2 to a non-player of the series (and the same as Medal of Honor for that matter) |
1) 0:37 thats called the guardian. Its actually a killstreak that stuns the enemy and kills them if they stand in the path of the microwave for too long. It's kind of like the IMS from MW3 but less powerful. I think new gadgets are a good thing since people always complain COD is the same. As long as it's useful and not overpowered, which does not seem to be the case.
2) Yes and it seems riot shields have finally become useful since you can plant them into the ground and shoot from above them. It seems a bit too useful, but I think it will be balanced with the new slot system they made for loadouts.
3) The number of killstreaks seem to have been toned down significantly from MW3. The ones shown are some of the new ones they have come up with. Plus Treyarch were always very conservative with their killstreaks with them not stacking or most killstreaks not being overpowered (many sucked balls tbh). IW were the ones who made ks spam a staple of their games, not Treyarch.
4) If you notice, the guy actually had to SWITCH to his knife from his pistol before actually knifing. This means you can no longer just press the right thumbstick with your gun out to knife someone. You have to first switch to your knife then swipe someone. This means no more panic knifing, and to me this is the best change in COD so far.
5) Treyarh has always made their shotguns suck balls. I hope this shotgun is usable. Increased rate of fire is not equal to overpowered. Case in point the AA12 from MW3.
6) I believe that X-ray vision is an attachment for your gun. It seems overpowered but it's meant to help you seek out campers. Plus it may not be very overpowered with the new point slot system that you could see in the trailer. Some dude was running around with 6 perks and just a pistol while others had 1 or 2 perks but a ton of equipment/attachments on weapons. Different equipment cost different amounts depending on what you choose and you can choose to not have things you never use. So you can choose to have no equipment or attachments but have a ton of perks or vice versa.
Finally I'm also looking forward to zombies. It's apparently much more expanded from before with both coop and competitive modes. Also rumoured is a completely separate zombies campaign, but that's just a rumour.
