I am new to this thread, but I was just wondering why does everyone estimate the score for the CIN-PIT game but none other?

Tie breaker rules.. normally its been the Monday Night Football game, but this week there is no MNF, so it was a game Rol picked. If you're curious and bored, the first few posts explain it all.

The best thing for the Bears would be for them to fire the entire coaching staff, dump Urlacher at the end of the year (he's too pricey and slow), get a completely new offensive line, and to start drafting defensive players since the entire defense is getting old at the same time.  Oh, and maybe they can pick up a tight end that can catch and a couple of recievers that can do the same.  Marshall can't do it all by himself.

Besides for that, I think that they are looking great.

How do you go from 7-1 to 8-6?  The finger has to be pointed at someone and that someone is the head coach.

I dunno about dumping Urlacher. If you can negotiate a much lower salary (I know), I'd say he's still worth it: he's lost several steps since his youth, but he really is a "smart linebacker" that still brings a lot to the table.

The rest of it is true.

I do know.  They need to dump him.  Look.  I know that Urlacher has been a great player many years for the Bears, but what I have witnessed from him this year reminds me of Mike SIngletary's final season.  He sees the play, he reads it, and he can't get there.  It's actually very depressing to watch.  He should retire after this season, because his days of being a great linebacker are over.  Otherwise the Bears should let him go somewhere else if someone wants to pay him big money because you know that he'll want it.

Also, I think that the Bears need to dump Devin Hester.  He isn't returning kickoffs or punts for TDs anymore and the experiment with him at WR has been a miserable failure.

By dumping these two fat salaries, the Bears can aquire some decent offensive linemen.

I'd like to offer you some sort of comfort.

But that's a pretty distinct possibility.

I am assuming what you say of Urlacher is based on his actions in the last game and later statements about Smith and the fans. Booing your own fans is not proffessional at all and I think this alone should send him out of Chicago. I think Cutler once flipped off booing Denver fans. Fans do not forget these types of things quickl, after all the fans pay the NFL's salary. He should be let go. The statements defending Smith and once again insulting the fans is another reason he should go. The team would be better if they move away from ground and pound style with defense and work on a team that can score a lot quickly. It seems to be a requirement in the league for true success, now that defense in games is hardly allowed.

To be honest, what I said had nothing to do with that.  He has given us many great years and I won't let some foolish comments by him ruin how I perceive what he has given Chicago because I think that I understand where it comes from.  He is sticking up for his longtime coach and his team.  The problem is that they don't pay his salary, but I digress...

I stated in my comment to noname that the reason that I want Urlacher gone is because he will cost too much money and he doesn't give much in return.  I stand by that.  He's the guy that has to read everything in the Bears outdated Cover 2 defense which means that he's the "spy" on the QB.  There was a time when he would run down Mike Vick.  Now guys like Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson run circles around him.  As noname said, he is a smart guy.  Maybe he can be the defensive coordinator under Lovie Smith when Lovie gets another job since apparently they have sex with each other.

Urlacher will retire. There is no need to dump him. He's done as it is.

Hester needs to be reduced in salary and put back to special teams only. The WR spot has ruined him as it simply is not his thing. It should have been done when we picked up Marshall in the first place.

A few tough picks here... but the only game I'll be watching this week is Bears beating up on Cardinals live in AZ. (please for the love of God let Cards suck again)

My first NFL dedication pics go to Superchunk's Cardinals. Enjoy the game live man!

Week 15

superchunk (13-3) beats chocoloco (12-4), noname2200 (12-4), NinjaBlade360 (11-5) and ljigga (10-6).

insomniac17 (152-72) adds another game to his lead, he is now eight games ahead of RolStoppable and chocoloco (both 144-80). Rank 2-10 are within four games, so even if there won't be a change at the very top, there's probably going to be a lot of position shuffling right below it in the final two weeks. The winner of the week is superchunk (up 4, from #9 to #5), the loser of the week is zuvuyeay (down 3, from #3 to #6).

...

Important announcement

This week also brought the official elimination of shakarak and Blacksaber from the playoff race, so there are only 16 players left who are still eligible. This means that if another player drops out due to missing too many games, the number of playoff spots will be reduced to 14, so #15 isn't necessarily a safe spot to be in.
