The broncos were one of four teams looking at papa Peyton, as these teams needed a quarterback and could afford them. The 49ers, Cardinals, AQ and Titans also courted Manning. From the befgining it looked pretty he favoured Denver, partly because the general manager is the positive and funny ex-great quarterback John Elway. Elway is seen as one of the main reasons Peyton choose Denver. And, yes, they are paying Peyton tons of money. Something like 30 million. Still, he looks like he will win another offensive player most valuable player again this , so it paid off big time. This might be a mess I am on my Nexus 7 #Tablet.

yes i have seen elway on the telly behind those glass boxes at bronco games and they saying it's a reason,i thought there would be more than 4 going for it,30m crikey sounds like a big chunk of the budget, thats over a couple of years right,

that reminds me when was i looking at big ben last week to see info it came up on a google page that he was on 900,000 salary, surely that is wrong, they must get paid more than that

No, that is for won year and it might be slightly higher. He is signed for up to 5 years, but each year is written like a one year contract because he is older and his neck injury makes him a risk even though he is one of the best ever. It is a pretty big chunk, though the salary cap is much higher. The broncos had a lot of cap space last year so they could afford him. There would be more than four, but Peyton only choose to visit those 4 and a lot of the teams could not afford him, and, or did not not need him, as he is older, previously injured and was a risk. The Broncos are paying to win now with Peyton. Meaning even next year they will utilize the full cap to try to win a championship or more. This was directly stated by the orginization. In the past, before Elway took charge they did not reach the cap each year. Elway signed only with the agreement the Pat Bowlen, the Broncos owner would pay for players to make the team a winning team again.

Ben rOTHLISBURGER PROBALY MAKES MULT-MILLIONS TOO. (Caps lock) What you qouted as Ben's salary is a year is probably on the lower end for a player in one season.

Why did our picks have to fail so hard, superchunk? It's shocking how the Lions blew their lead. The Chargers aren't that good anyway, so that was less of a surprise.

Yeah Lions, Bears, and Niners all really lost for me. I thought those were solid picks.

The Chargers, Chiefs, and Ravens were games I was unsure about in the first place as I had less faith in those teams anyways.

I was considering changing my pick to have a contention of top 5 IF Washington wins... but really there should be no chance of that. RG3 is good, but Giants are a better team and of course I'd rather have the win on the record vs a very risky try for a top5 spot.

However, if Giants lose.... LOL

I shouldn't put faith in turnover Rivers.

A joke is supposed to be funny...

So, what do you think about the 49ers QB situation?  I personally think that Harbaugh is doing a lousy thing considering that Smith was 18 for 19 in his last full game.

I'll remember that the next time the words "cancer patient" appear in your posts...

I think we've pretty much seen Smith's cieling. Worse, it appears that the entire offense has to be scaled back to compensate for his deficiencies. I doubt Kapernick (sic?) is the answer, but I don't fault Harbaugh for trying something new when the chance arose. Of course, he (Harbaugh) made some bad decisions in yesterday's game, so it's easier to second-guess him now than it would have been earlier.

The redskins are continuing their march to the playoffs (sorry haters). Easy schedule the rest of the way, can see us taking the division easily. The nfc east belongs to RG3.
