Rams kept getting screwed over by the refs. "Screwed over" isn't quite the right word, since they technically DID commit the penalties that negated such beauties as an 80 yard completion and a successful 53 yard FG. Also, the refs were incompetent enough to realize that they needed to add 1:20 or so to the clock in the first half, and then never bother to notice that the time was never actually added on.

It's the only tie I've ever seen, and it was...something.

Overall, this week left a sour taste in my mouth. Three starting QBs go out with concussions, a fairly crappy record for me, and the Chiefs are playing tonight. Hopefully at least Smith and Cutler come back by next week, or the hyped MNF matchup won't be anywhere near as fun.

You mean they screwed themselves. The wide receiver needed to be on the line or the tackle needed to declare himself eligible. One or the other screwed up.

As for the delay of game on the FG attempt, I'm still not sure why Fisher didn't call a timeout with the clock running down. Each team gets 2 timeouts in OT, so you can chalk that one up to the HC.

49ers D was definitely shaky coming off that bye week, which is why they gave up 14 quick points, but after they played decently (barring that 80yd pass that came back).

Offense was very shaky after Smith went out. Kaepernick was completely missing wide receivers with his throws. To be expected from a second year player who basically comes in for wildcat running plays. He played better in the second half. In OT Akers missed a very makeable 41yd FG. He's not quite up to the Pro Bowl level he was last year. He's been used less often this year though.

With Smith back (hopefully), and the defense over their bye week jitters they should play much better next week. At he has an extra day to rest up since it's MNF.

The Josh McCown part? Yes. The season over part? HELLS YEAH HAHA SUCK IT SUPERCHUNK!

It's probably just a precaution, in case Cutler's not back in time for Monday's game. I don't see anything to indicate that Cutler isn't expected to return, possibly by next week.

Didn't the Bears hire McCown last year after Hanie wasn't up to the task? Why didn't they sign him permanently, if they aren't happy with their current #2 QB?

Also, where is amp316's "I hate the Texans" post? Double standards much?

I find it odd that he wasn't aleady the 3rd string QB.  This makes me think that they were only carrying 2 QBs.  That can't be right, can it?

I don't hate the Texans or even dislike them (it's not like they are the dirtiest team of all time like the Packer followed closely by the Lions), but I did make fun of Arian Foster's bow ties and what's up with that stupid TD celebration that he does?

Now I have even more reason to root for Houston! As Superchunk unsurprisingly picked his 2nd team after the cardinals.

I do not remember hearing of a tie in football in a long time. The game was so boring I stopped watching after the 1st quarter.

Fill this out to join the Texans bandwagon:

I cannot tell if I pass or fail the bandwagon test. Truthfully, I like Houston because they are the newest team and consiquently have no rivalry with the Broncos. That and my strong connections to Texas.

The main one I disagree with is the 49ers  as they are a little too high. The 49ers have not dominated anyone is some time and have a lot to prove against Houston.

The Texans knocked Cutler out of the game with a dirty hit. If they didn't, the Bears would have won. But I guess it's okay, because Houston is still a relatively new team.

I don't think the hit was intended to be dirty.  Sometimes when two guys are moving at high speed, heads collide.  It's not like the play where Suh tried to actually break his neck a cuple of weeks ago.  Also, who knows if they would have won or not.  THE TEAM played like crap.

I wonder if you would say the same thing, if a Packer had hit Cutler in the same fashion.

Why do you keep bringing up the Packers?  They didn't win this week either.

at the beginning of the houston v chicago game they said these two teams could be the superbowl but even with my limited capacity i've seen chicago twice and they just don't score when i think they should on drive after drive, but they have only been on my telly twice

on a side note too the BBC game i get on a monday was a blessing with no presenters and a stadium feed and now for the pittsburgh game they have got two idiots in the smallest studio in the world blithering on about nothing while i could be watching the stadium and crowd live, what a waste of my licence money paying idiots to jabber on about nothing

So-called experts are usually all over teams with high winning records, completely ignoring how these records came to be. Houston and Chicago are good teams, no doubt, but they aren't infallible. Although Houston is definitely a better candidate for the Super Bowl, because the AFC is clearly the weaker conference this season.

Also, Chicago is the team in the league that scores the most points on defense by far (meaning they return fumbles and interceptions for touchdowns). If the offense is on their own, the team isn't capable of driving the score up. Much of Chicago's success this season is owed to the defense which either returned turnovers for points or got their offense into good field position through turnovers.

that's right and i understand that chicago have great defence from here and their record is fine,it just seems to me the superbowl is a long way away if the offence can't finish off 60 yards, but maybe i don't see enough games or it was that rookie QB,i woke up near the end of that game and saw chicago on a drive with a few points in it  and thought they'll do that right, this time,i'm just saying i wish i picked houston

Steelers suck. Needed ref assistance to beat the CHIEFS. Sad team.
