Merlin And Morgan le Fay Appear In Soul Sacrifice

Famitsu has a glimpse of three new characters in Comcept’s upcoming PlayStation Vita title, Soul Sacrifice.

We’ve recently reported what’s available in Soul Sacrifice’s latest demo, which includes two chapters: the Sorcerer’s Test and Nimue’s chapter. Nimue’s chapter is one of the main scenarios of the game. We learned that Merlin’s chapter is also going to be a big part of the story as one of the main scenarios. Let’s take a look at a trio of characters who’ll be playing a major role in Merlin’s side of the story.

Merlin’s story takes place several years before Nimue’s chapter. In Merlin’s chapter, we learn about his special abilities and his relationship with the magician who wrote the diary. The main character is on a journey to acquire his holy grail. Merlin’s cruel nature is completely different from what the main character new about him based on the diary. What was it that changed him? And will the main character be able to rid of Nimue’s ghost from haunting his heart? The key lies within Merlin’s story.

Morgan is a mysterious woman who continuously follows Merlin and the main character. She claims to have been close to Merlin, but he doesn’t have a single recollection of her, as he considers Morgan a complete stranger. Her purpose is shrouded in mystery but she keeps showing up with her belligerent attitude towards the main character and company. Avoiding Morgan le Fay seems out of the question.

In the chapter, Activities in Avalon, a wizard friend can read out of four different books based on known wizards. The book known as “The corrupted wizard” talks of the gold stained Bowman. “Try some, it’s good.” is what he told the main character by offering him a fruit. He then decided to follow the main character on his journey, as a way to have him pay his debt for the fruit he just ate. Bowman claims to be part of the group merely to be compensated, but the main character knows what’s deep down in his heart.

Lancelot, Perceval, And Gawain Are Three Of The 100 Allies In Soul Sacrifice

Read more at http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/13/lancelot-perceval-and-gawain-are-three-of-the-100-allies-in-soul-sacrifice/#0kOEK3Ip6GcCD3EX.99

In Soul Sacrifice, you have companions who will join the main character on his journey. Each ally has unique abilities to fight against monsters like the Harpy.

In ‘Free Quest’, the player will be able to bring up to two companions to join the party from a total of 100 companions you can meet during the game.  Some of these companions come from the main story quests in Soul Sacrifice.

Here’s a look at three twisted companions who are based on the Arthurian legend.

Perceval

Perceval makes his appearance in the “Children of the Demon” scenario. He’s a mysterious wizard full who has an odd habit of scratching his chest until it bleeds. When asked why he does this, Perceval replies by saying “It’s a disease”, in a lighthearted manner. The main character is concerned by the imbalance of Perceval’s nature as a human being, nonetheless, they continue to travel together to achieve their common goal. Over time, the main character will learn more about Perceval and his past and everything he’s been through.

Gawain

Gawain appears in his own scenario called “The Werewolf’s Agony”. He has a history with a demon known as Werewolf, who killed all of his friends in the past. In order to avenge his comrades, Gawain has been hunting the Werewolf for the past 10 years. Notice his eyes? Gawain lost one eye in one scuffle with the Werewolf. It is still a mystery as to why the Werewolf was after Gawain in the first place, but he decided to join the main character’s group in hopes of achieving his goal.

Lancelot

Appearing in the scenario “The Knight’s Vengeance”, Lancelot is a prominent wizard and henchmen of King Leode. The King is known for disliking wizards, but even he couldn’t ignore Lancelot’s talents, although Lancelot himself never accepts compliments from anyone. He has an unknown objective in mind and took his position to help achieve his goal, which will require him to have support from the people he serves. Lancelot invites the hero to talk about a certain truth.

Mean Wizards Unlock Chaos Mode In Soul Sacrifice, Merciful Wizards Get Holy Mode

Read more at http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/26/mean-wizards-unlock-chaos-mode-in-soul-sacrifice-merciful-wizards-get-holy-mode/#Ey1zSm3CVuMoU6BY.99

Famitsu gave us a look at a critical choice you’ll be given in Soul Sacrifice. The PlayStation Vita game has situations which will determine if your sorcerer walks on the dark or light path. Both alignments have their own unique transformation abilities to go with it.

The two situational options given to you will be between save or sacrificing certain monsters upon killing them. If you go with the sacrifice option, it will raise your magic power level. On the other hand, choosing the save option will raise your ‘life force’ level. Whichever one you pick, you’ll gain new abilities and will also accordingly change in appearance. In return, you’ll lose EXP points of the other side.

Here’s a look at the transformations.

Once you’ve reached the limit of your magic power level, you can transform into Chaos Mode. This fearsome transformation focuses on powering up the wizards to take on all monsters. Leveling up more will further change their appearance.

Wizards that take their Life Force to an extreme level by continuously relieving monster can transform into Holy Mode. If you keep going along the path of saving monsters, the Holy Mode transformation will also change its form accordingly. Wizards in Holy Mode are a sign of forgiveness, but are their decisions truly an act of justice?

Both modes look powerful enough to handle even the toughest monsters. Which side will you pick?

All monsters of the monsters in Soul Sacrifice were once humans just like our wizard. Except monsters have been consumed by the darkness because of their sinful desires. They can either be sacrificed or saved and the choice is yours.

Kraken
The Kraken is a monster with an appearance of a squid and octopus. This giant monster has eerie looking tentacles and what looks like a boat in its midsection. It makes you wonder what kind of desire could’ve caused that poor soul to transform into that!

Kraken uses swift tentacle attacks which can freely attack its surroundings. If you’re not careful, you could end up being blindsided by one of its tentacles.

Slime
The Slime monster isn’t your average weakling Slime we’ve grown accustomed to in other games. Not only in terms of power but it’s also quite the ugly monster. It uses its semi-liquid body to attack wizards. Its movements are considerably slow, but it can stretch for long reach and can also split apart to perform different types of attacks against its opponent. Underestimating this messy monster could mean trouble!

Soul Sacrifice is slated for release on April 30th in North America and May 1st in Europe.
