How do we feel about it chartz?

Last Q

PS3+PS2 2.8million

360+Wii 1.81m

Combined 4.6m, how much was it last year same period?

It's a pointless statement to add multiple generations of sales of one brand and compare them to single generation sales of other brands.  There is no value to it whatsoever other than to make Sony fanboys feel better about their brand coming in dead last in the current generation.  The only thing that matters is the sales of two competing brands in the same market, in the same generation.  Anything else is drivvel meant to skew arguments in the favor of the person making the statement, which I don't see the point of.

You're just in denial, its hard to fathom how a 12 year old console and its bigger brother that was called the next Dreamcast outsell the competition this much. What matters is how much a company sells their console, you shouldnt limit yourself with pathetic quotas like "same market, same generation". Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I don't think it'll go too far into next-gen because almost everyone seems to already have one!

I agree but I can see the PS2 selling 2 million in FY 2015.

The PS2 is not part of the current generation, and therefore has no business being compared to this generation's sales.  I've mentioned this in another thread very recently.  The PS2 acheived the majority of it sales during a booming global economy.  Are you in denial of the fact that the Wii is the only console of the current generation to sell 90+ million consoles despite existing in an era of recession?  Anyone can pile up multi-generational stats just for the hell of it and compare them to selected portions of their competition because they feel like it.  Does it serve any purpose?  No.  What is in the forefront of your own statement is that fact that you feel the need to use PS2 sales numbers to prop up the sales numbers of the PS3.  Now, the question is, why do you feel the need to do that?  Is it because Sony went from the #1 market leader of last generation to the last place market holder of this generation?

I can add multi-generational stats too:

Gameboy (118.69 mil) + Gameboy Advance (81.51 mil) + Nintendo DS (152.33 mil) + Wii (96.37 mil) = Nintendo 448.90 million

Play Station (104.25 mil) + Play Station 2 (153.68 mil) + PSP (74.86) + Play Station 3 (65.52 mil) = Sony 398.31 million

See what I just did right there?  3 Nintendo Handhelds and their current console lead the entire Sony console family and their main selling portable by 50 million units.  Now, does my edition serve any other purpose than to show a grouping of Nintendo products housing the same # of Sony products in sales?  Honestly, no it doesn't.  And, that's what I think of not just this specific thread, but of any cross-generational/cross platform argument.  There are variables taking place in other generations that make it senseless to compare them to the one you are currently living in.

Pretty impressive feat from the King of Consoles, the PS2 and good job of incurring the wrath of Nintendo and Microsoft fans Turkish :)

Actually, there are new Gameboy Advances for sale on Amazon.com.  Which coincidentally, is the only place I see new PS2's for sale online.

Amazon.com: Used and New: Game Boy Advance Console in Glacier

None of those are from brick & Morter retailers though, and also there shipments are not updated in financial unlike the PS2

By the way, I cannot stress enough the fact that I in no way shape or form "hate" Sony.  I bought my brother his first Play Station and later one for myself.  Although I do not own a PS3, I bought one for my brother last year (although I can't say I contributed to it's sales figures on that one, because I bought it off EBay that time).  And, I am certainly not envious of how many PS2's were sold in it's lifetime.  How could I be?  I am one of the 152+ million people who bought one!  I still have it hooked up to my living room television set alongside my XBox 360 and Wii consoles.  And, I still enjoy playing it from time to time.  However, I can disagree with the purpose of combing sales generations though, without it meaning that I solely support Microsoft or Nintendo and therefore am directing my "wrath" against Sony.  It just doesn't seem to be a logical argument to me when you factor in competition, economy, and everything else that one generation faces that another does not for the sole purpose of adding numbers together and saying, "hey look, these numbers look much better combined than these numbers" when they don't even directly compete against each other.  That's all I am saying with no ulterior motives behind it.
