Just saw that at Kotaku and boy some of those look really similar. What do you guys think?

yea, the tracks still need a lot of work to catch the charm of the originals

i wonder why you can build those bowsers castle stone faces which come from the side to kick you or from above to make you flat if you understand what i mean. as if it is the plan from the developers that you can build mario kart levels so people will talk about "you can play mario kart in lbpk".

but i don't really know the editor so can't really say something about it.

I guess more effort will be put in when the full game releases + you will be able to increase the speed.

Jk, this actually looks quite amazing (and I would lie if I said I haven't done similar things in Halo 3/Reach). If I ever got a PS3, this would be one of my first purchases.
