Nintendo is getting ready for release of Wii U. Retailers might be deciding to hold off ordering more and getting ready for the Wii U release.

Isn't it a tad early for that? I would not expect that until September..

no, i think it make more sense for wii U's to be shiped to retailers before a launch date or price is announced...

..er wait no, you're right.

Just like DS which was expected to pass PS2 but never did, maybe Wii will also fall short of 100m.

I would rather say: Just like DS wich was expected to pass PS2 but never did, so will Wii never pass PS1.

It's only about a month, but that is still a month left to collect some sales. They will probably be all gone by Black Friday anways.

Nintendo should release WiiU right at the beginning of November on the 4th, but I digress.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Nintendo Nintendo DS 2004 152.05 million

Outdated PS2 numbers though...Sony will also release their quarterly shipments soon enough. PS2 will be 2-2.5m ahead (and it is still selling).

I would like to know how the PS2 is still selling, as seen no stores in the U.k. stocking new PS2's, and take it's the same in other countries.

There are no Wiis in online stores because they are waiting for a new redesigned Wii at 99$! :D
Who knows!?

It really is a strange situation having it soldout at various online retailers. My guess would be that Nintendo is preparing a new SKU?

Or Nintendo don't want to keep flogging a dead house, as some other do.
