Is the new quest in which you battle with Lightning from ff13 buggy? I done the FATE with her but didn't receive a item from it so I can't complete the quest!?

you need to level sync, and get gold or silver rank in the FATE. The best way to do that is to form a party or join one.

still really loving this game, and the environments still looks awesome! ive have just finished the Garuda quest which i really enjoyed that battle, it took our party 6 attempts but we enjoyed it its was good fun.

does anyone know when the relic quest becomes available? is it part of the main story?

A Relic Reborn Walkthrough

A Relic Reborn Quest Sequence.
1 - Pre-requisite: Complete Class and Job quests for respective weapon.
2 - Pre-requisite: Complete Main Scenario Quest and unlock access to Amdapor keep (either through dungeon side quests starting with Aurum Vale or through grand company quest after MSQ)
3 - Talk to Nedrick Ironheart in Vesper Bay to pick up quest "A Relic Reborn"
4 - Talk to Rowena in Revenant's Toll
5 - Talk to Gerolt from Hyrstmill(North Shroud)
6 - Go to respective Beastmen Stronghold and find 'broken' weapon
Zaha'rak = PLD, MNK
Natalan = BRD, DRG
U'Ghamaro Mines = WAR, WHM, BLM
Sapsa Spawning Grounds = SCH
Sylphlands = SMN

7 - Craft/Buy Class weapon and double meld with grade III Materia

8 - Obtain Alumina Salts from D'horme Chimera in Coerthas. You must complete this duty as the JOB you are getting the weapon for.

9 - Obtain Amdapoor Glyph from Amdapoor Keep. You must complete this duty as the JOB you are getting the relic for. You get the glyph upon exiting the dungeon. Exchange with Rowena for "Interview with a Padjal"

10 - Slay 24 beastmen in respective stronghold. You need to do so, on the correct JOB and using the UNFINISHED WEAPON.

14 - Obtain Hyperfused Ore from Titan (Hard). You must complete this duty as the JOB you are getting the relic for.

15 - Purchase "Bottle of Radz-at-Han Quenching Oil" for 900 Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy

I noticed it says double meld the weapon! Does this mean I'm going to have to level up a disciple of hand class to be able to complete it??

You can level up a disiciple of hand class, or have someone meld it for you, or buy one from the auction with the melded materia on it already.

I got to say it put a little tear drop in my eye to see her off... You have to complete the event to understand.

This completely change my perspective of Lightning.
