I'm not exactly sure about this. I know there is in game achievements and trophies, but I think trophies will be available on official launch day and your progress will carry over.  Again I'm not sure.

Hope so.. or else it would be pretty hard for me to get a platinum :P

ok so im considering getting this game but i have some quick questions
Do we get the first month of this game for free?
What server are us VGC guys on?
Can PS3 and PC play together?
When is the games official launch?

oh and can you change servers with your character if you want to or do you need to make a new char?

yay 1 more question. if i buy a UK copy of the game can i still get the bonus items (im Aus PSN) and can i pay with an Aus credit card?

1) Yes.

2) A few of us are on Sargatanas. Not sure about others.

3) Yes. Every world is cross play.

4) Tomorrow.

5) You must make a new character.

6) I believe so. Since the game is entirely digital, that should work. I'm not really one to answer that question though...

Yes there are clans. They're called Free Company in FFXIV. Free companies are adventurer-run organizations.

I'm on server Sargatanas as well.

There are Linkshells (which are glorified chat rooms) and Free Companies (which are guilds/clans).

I'm not sure if there's a VGC clan, but my friends and I started one and we've got about 30 members so far. If you would like to join us at some point, you're more than welcome to.

It's probably for the best that you can't play during launch week. It's going to be..hectic, full of errors, and "world is full" errors. 

Another thing I would like to add is that i'm terribly disappointed with Square-Enix when it comes to the main scenario. Thus far it's a massive step down from the 7th Umbral Storyline from 1.0 which wasn't amazing either. Once again there is a hindrance which keeps the story from being interesting because there's so much unnecessary fluff to get players to level 50.

It's so easy, so disengaging, so uninteresting that it becomes annoying to even do. This is coming from a person who praises story quests, but thus far from what i've done; A Realm Reborn has the absolute worst story in any Final Fantasy title, including the first two.

It's an absolute shame.
