Forums - General - Any VGCers live in the DC area?

I spent some time in DC a few years back for an internship, and while i know a few things about that town now (that the best hamburgers are found in Arlington, about a mile down from the "Courthouse" station on the orange line, for one), i'm wondering if there's anyone here with more firsthand experience about things like DC hiring agencies, or about where cheap (but marginally clean/safe) apartments can be found.

Basically, I want to make the move into the area, even without having a job ahead of time, to just try to get what I can and get the ball rolling, for as my signature explains, apparently we need experience for entry-level jobs now, and i'm certainly not getting anything relevant sticking around in Western Pennsylvania.

Anyone have advice, or just live around there?

I heard if you intern with the Republican party they give you room and board... you could just do that while looking around :p

Nooo... Mr Khan is a serial killer!!! don't give him your information!!!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Look on Re-Max for homes or that one HTC thing that they have on their website that helps you find places to live. They should be pretty helpful!

Why can't you indulge my need to eviscerate transients and store them in my basement freezer?

I'm sad now...

@ NintendoPie. Dude, Remax for housing? I'm looking to move into a basement that a family friend is moving out of. That's the level of housing i'm looking at <_>

Holy crap, I didn't mean HTC. I meant HGTV...

You know you can't set your price range? Or do you literally mean you are moving into someone's home? I'm so confused. XD

Well, I live in the DC area, but I'm also 17 so I won't be much help with any apartment or job information. Although I do think that living in Northern Virginia rather than DC proper is a better idea. (Taking the metro to DC is a very simple process.)

Oh, there's a great frozen yogurt place by north 11th Street! It's yummy.
