Forums - Sony - Yoshida on lack of “mega-blockbuster” Sony titles this year, family-friendly strategy

What about LBP Karting, isn't this also coming this holiday??

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I actually noticed there was a strong family friendly vibe going on with the holiday releases this year. I wondered if it was coincidental or intentional.

TBH, I'm sure Sony would love to have The Last of Us out this year, but giving ND the time they need is the better option.

I'm really happy with the line-up for later this year. LBP Karting, Sly Cooper, PSABR and Ratchet are all games I'm very much looking forward to. They may be family friendly but there's no reason that all gamers can't enjoy them.

It's funny that Smash Bros, Mario Kart and 3D Mario count most definitely as Nintendo's 'core' games but apparently PS All Stars, LBP Karting and Sly Cooper don't for Sony? As for the lack of 'mega blockbusters' on PS3 which is a true statement, I believe they poured some of that momentum into getting an exclusive Assassin's Creed and COD on Vita, which is a smart move.

And they still get the actual Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed for the PS3.  They may not be exclusives, but I'd imagine they're still going to sell very well over the holidays.

lol  ./agreed

i'm personally excited for playstation all stars.  as much as i am also excited for GoW:A, last of us, beyond ... playstation all stars is greater complement to the existing library than another GoW or shooter.  i dunno, halo 4 is more core for sure but i can't say i'm unhappy about the upcoming line-up (something 360 fans and especially nintendo fans hadn't been able to say in previous holidays)

Definitely a weak year for Sony however honestly not that bad overall. Looking forward to Sly 4.

I hope GG does something new for the PS3 before PS4 though, like ND is doing.

They have OKami HD. What more do they need? :P

did sly 4 get bumped?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
