The hype for TDKR is high at the moment. Once it dies down people will start to see that TDK was the better movie with the better villain. IMO of course.

Never read the comics I take it?

I'm going to go with the Joker. Bane was so epic until he became a useless henchman. While not really useless, I felt like he really changed as a character in his actions and ways after we found out he was working for that chick. Just ruined it for me.

Joker was a better villain for me. Heath's rendition made the Joker just pure insane chaos, and the incarnation of the desire of people to tear things down, just to tear it down. Bane seemed much more reasoned, and fit into that back story. Bane incarnated the rational destructionist philosophy, unlike the Joker who was destructionism incarnate as its own end. End result, Bane, as powerful as Bane was, arguably had a point, and exposed a lot, as did the League of Shadows.

Joker. He is hilarious. The most hilarious Super Villain evar.

Bane is cool and all but he just seems so... serious...

I have visions of the Joker meeting Bane and saying, "Why so... serious?".  At that point, Bane grabs the Joker by his neck and breaks his back and then throws the Joker off a large height.

Bane was a joke in this new movie. Not only did he look stupid, his voice was hilarious. Everyone I know was laughing anytime he talked. Joker was great.

Joker was still the coolest in that situation.

Bane was awesome, but not The Joker. The Joker is the non plus ultra villain

Pretty much any top ten supervillain list that I've seen in the past ten or twenty years always comes down to these characters:

-Doctor Doom (who's been poorly represented in movies)
-Lex Luthor (who's been poorly represented in movies)
-Magneto
-Joker
-Darkseid
-Thanos

No Bane. And these come from "pros" like Wizard and IGN. No Bane. As awesome as Bane is in comics and even in this movie, he just can't hang with the big boys.
