Last year GT5 sold near 1.8m, doesnt seem getting close this year.

I think GT5 will sell 1.5m this year without bundles or new editions (XL/Spec II is not released in Europe yet).

When it does, it will be interesting to see where it can arrive in what's already its strongest territory. Go, Man Furismo Jive!

About the complete weekly data, what a depressing week in Europe! All HW down without exceptions, only DS SW up by a tiny amount and no SW beyond 500k... The only good data of the week are a few SW regional WoW boosts, PS3 and XB360 in USA and PSV in Japan.
Summer, I suppose...

maybe the economic crysis has something to do...the EU is fucked up...

The EU is fine. It's Spain, Ireland and especially Greece who are in trouble. The main countries (UK, France, Germany) are fine, for the most part. UK's problem is that there's no dedicated game stores anymore really, and the Olympics. I'm not certain about France or Germany, but I'd imagine saturation is the big key. People like new stuff, and the fact that every game is a sequel isn't really helping...

^^ I think it's pretty darn close, even if you count the 3DS and the PSVita...

And the PS3 is down far more than 13% the past few weeks. I believe it was outselling the figures last year early in the year even! And with the WiiU and other stuff coming out, it'll have a weaker holiday, so less sales, and no price cut or redesign can help that.

The gen is over. Is it saturated. We need a new generation, and that's a fact.

i agree but 360 and ps3 will still go on to sell >80m this gen.

Game has been closed down- I heard that they were bought by someone, but both the chains in my "local" shopping-town are closed

YOY

PS3: DOWN 37,530 or 23.4% (slipping)
360: DOWN 54,981 or 37.5% (old timer)
Wii: DOWN 81,487 or 62.7% (palliative care)

3DS: UP 26,637 or 26.0% (ok... I guess)
PSP+PSV combined: DOWN 30,491 or 25.4% (new hardware? where?)

TOTAL hardware down 37%

Boy do we need new machines.

A 3DS+DS YoY comparison would tell a more worrying story: Ninty killed DS far too early, and part of what's lost can't be recovered yet. Will it ever be?

Yes, but they've both peaked. There's another 20ish million left in them LT, like there's still 6-10mil left in the Wii, but it'll be slow, and have no chance it making up past sales.

Game & Gamestation are still around, they've been trying to keep at least one shop still open.  Most of the towns around where I live have at least one or the other.  There's Grainger Games as well which seem to be popping up around the country.

The problem with dedicated game stores like this is just that everything is too expensive.  Pre-owned games are more than they need to be, and new games stay expensive for far too long.  You can nearly always get a better deal on amazon/zavvi, and for pre-owned CEX is better.
