vita has poor overall sales compared to 3DS, but a very strong following...

would you rather have 10 million people buy that purchase 3 games during the entire lifetime of the device or would you rather have 1 million people buy that purchase 50 games for the lifetime of the device?

sales are not everything for devices that are game centric. although this site promotes that... sales to core gamers that buy many more games then casuals are important.

Your comparison might be correct if there was data that supported your claim that the vita had a higher software attachment rate but in reality...it doesn't...

Upcoming PS Vita Titles (2012)

  • Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation
  • FIFA 13
  • Guacamelee!
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Sound Shapes
  • Soul Sacrifice
  • Zen PinBall 2
  • Zone of the Enders HD collection
  • Warrior’s Lair

These are the games I will be buying to compliment games I have already brought:

Uncharted

Everybodys Golf

Gravity Rush

Rayman

Resistance

Disgaea 3

Dungeon Hunter

Wipeout

Unit 13

Escape Plan

Plants vs Zombies

Super Stardust

Mutant blobs

This is the 3rd system I have brought on launch and the first one I have not regretted really enjoyed the wide mix on offer, for me Vita has been a wonderful little machine which I wish more people would buy :)

Who says the Vita has no games? I already own more green metascore retail games for the thing than my 3DS. The problem is it has no heavy hitters like Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D Land. Uncharted has a good attach rate as does Persona 4 in Japan, it'll need more than that is all. Also for 4-5months of worldwide release the Vita has a very good library and don't let fans that are trying to block out that 8month period where the 3DS literally had no games worth buying other than OoT get to you.

In reality the Vita has low hardware sales AND low software sales.

Of course the Vita has some good games, but the 3DS has many good games too and overall much higher sales.

If doesn't change drastically in near futures I don't think we will speak about the Vita in a year from now.

But even in the period after launch with only a few new games, the 3DS has much higher sales than the Vita.

The Vita hard- and software sales are way to low to return costs for good games and that is the whole problem. If this doesn't change soon the Vita has no future.

I find it impressive how Vita fans try to lie to everyone so they get fooled into buying the system ( comments like saying its already the best handheld in history).

I would like to get a Vita because i like the new handhelds since they started doing 3D graphics and most japanese games gravitated towards them. But, in no way is the current line up atractive enough or even comparable to the quality on the 3DS line-up. I am waiting to see what happens and if good titles get announced.
The only relevant game coming out for it is assassins creed and soul sacrifice is at this moment something you cant really tell if it will end up well or bad. The rest is shovelware, not interested.

I only find Wipeout 2048 worth getting at the moment.

I was purely referring to its library. You stating the 3DS sold well with a poor library only makes the average videogame consumer look like an individual that isn't interested in videogames, which I don't approve of but seems to generally be the case as of late.

If all the Vitas heavy hitters come out including whatever is announced at Gamescom and TGS and sales don't improve then sure it'll be a failure, but to claim its dead or dying as of now is extremely premature. The attach rate for the likes of Uncharted and and P4G and smaller niche titles like Ragnarok Odyssey and Disgaea 3 show that the device can move software despite such a small install base, so I doubt developers will pull out of making games for the thing, which is the only issue owners should be concerned about.

I think this week in Media Create a 3DS/PSV multiplat actually sold more on the Vita by 100 units, i'm pretty sure developers take note of these occurrences so I wouldn't worry too greatly about the Vitas immediate future.

I find it impressive that 2.5 million people brought this device purely to lie to everyone else

It's a great idea, really.

the people that said that know what they're talking about. hardware wise vita is the best handheld out there.

The takeaway from this thread is more about waiting for Gamescom/TGS than anything else. We've got a list of games, many of which have thin details or are largely TBA/TBD. Once the picture is clearer, i'm sure things will pick up
