Even with better games in the fall, I think the Vita is screwed. The "hip teenager" Sony demographic wants for the Vita in the West is going to be cannibalized by the launch of the iPhone 5 and iPad mini and even the 3DS XL and Wii U (quasi-portable around the home). Though actually I think Apple is a bigger crimp in Sony's ambitions. I just don't see this product being on the top of very many shopping lists, and once people have blown all their electronic gadget spending budget somewhere else ... that's the problem.
It's a vicious competetive climate out there. Also to both Nintendo and Sony -- $40 handheld games is never going to fly. Nintendo can sort of get away with it because of the power of their core franchises, but Sony is not in that same boat.

I think I'm going to adopt a new policy: Ignore everyone who doesn't have an avatar. It tends to be that people who haven't been here long or aren't planning on staying usually have no idea what they're talking about; it's like they JUST broke into game discussion on here. I just don't care for people who are quick to declare something doomed so early in its lifestyle, the two closest parallels to the Vita are the PS3 and 3DS, both had rocky starts, both turned it around, there's no reason to believe this won't too.
you know, aside from all the fantastic looking games coming out for it. not to mention the fact it not only has unique features that give it some awesome exclusives, but it also can do ports of console games.
