| Mmmfishtacos said: Yes, i understand how it works. Thats why i brought it up. It showing the 3ds dosnt have many games people want. If the average person is only buying two. Chances are they both have Mairo in the title. Proveing once again 3rd party games donot sell well on a nintendo console. Id argue the didgital sales are pretty good. Regardless of memorry cost, i had 4 downloadable games plus all the apps on my 4 gig card. You seem a little hurt the attach ration is about the same. With 18 million people owning one they should have a higer ratio considring all the good games 3ds fans seem to think they have. |
well I just did the same for DS and PSP with 150million and 78 million on global scale
DS = 3.2
PSP = 2.5
going by this, both new handhelds arn't doing to badly.
Other interesting ones
PS2 = 4.1
GCN = 7.6
Current Gen
Wii = 6.2
360 = 6.9
PS3 = 6
Well if it has good games.. the obvious culprit for weak sales is advertisement...
Yay!!!
I feel this thread is a deliberate ploy to decrease intelligence.
What does attach rate have to do with anything? Why did someone bring up Iwata? Why, even, are people talking about the 3DS?
The last 'real' post in the past 50 or so is the one directly above this one. And that's quite depressing. So can people get back on-topic? Is that sooooo hard?
I'll start the ball rolling. The Vita's major problem is that people don't want those games you've shown in the IP, they want portable-suited games, like Pokemon. Why is there so few 'portable' games? If anything's been proved, it's that Sony is wrong in thinking people want a portable PS3. They want a handheld.

Wrong that's your opinion we DO want the games in the op advertising is the problem with 1 main killer app, Sony will advertise cod and AC if there not stupid
@Exile- No, YOU (and other people on the internet) may want those games in the OP, but it's quite clear that the general public doesn't agree...
And you're correct. Advertising and the lack of the 'killer-app' are the real issues, but the attitude towards the system is Sony's biggest problem. Until they change that, we can't expect there to be huge success.
Exactly /thread
It is the same thing with every vita thread the answer is
Wait 12 months for full evaluation
Sony needs advertisement
Vita needs 1 global killer app either GT, GTA exclusive or maybe even a COD exclusive but until they are announced/released we will not know.
But these threads keep popping up so we might as well talk about anything else because they are the same thing over and over and over and over

And dude, are you completely trying to ignore facts? the PS3 had a similarly dismal launch and yet look where that ended up. Likely end up over 90 million units by the time it's all said and done. not to mention the first few years of the PS3's lifetime were cannibalized by the established and remarkably successful PS2. Even IF the PSP was outselling the Vita, it's not unheard of. Same thing happened in the formative months of the DS..but again, you failed to do your research becuase the Vita has been the second best selling handheld for a few months now (granted, it's not doing MUCH better than the PSP on a worldwide scale, but that's not the point, the point is that you're wrong.) And if you're talking just the US, well, don't be so arrogant, the US and Canada aren't all that matter. |
The difference is that the PS3 had the chalkboard! We all knew great games were coming out for it sometime (MGS4, FF13, GOW3, etc.), plus it also had all the multi-plats with the 360 to keep software flowing, even if the hardware was moving so well because of the high price.
Is there a chalkboard for the Vita? Are there great games coming out for it? Where are the announcements from Sony? Even game logo's would help, but there isn't anything significant.
The Vita has been out since December in Japan and it's struggling to even surpass it's predecessor, the PSP.

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

all im saying is the no games argument needs to die, theres plenty to play now and in the coming months. it will only get better over time. riddel me this, why did they ds stop selling when they were the same price? when the vita hits 170 it will have pretty good sales, maybe not as good as the 3ds. unless people actulay figure out its a pretty dope tablet alternative.
