so here It is, If you are a writer and would  like to share some of your work you can do it here, if you do want to do it in private (in case you don't want anyone stealing your ideas) then you can do that as well, even if you are a reader rather than a writer , you could give feedback and can suggest any changes and what not , or currect some mistakes, you can share your tips and tricks, or prefered writing style...etc etc

tl;dwran (didn't wanna read a novel) , just share your writing/reading discussions.

So for my Elyzium book, a Scifi story about Headhunters and Outlaws called "Drifters" , I've made this long Timeline , just so I can make a record of past evens that happened in this universe, some of the time line is marked as "???" and some of them isn't true in real life, because knowledge was lost with the passing of time, so here , tell me what you think =] , and dont get bored because this is a very long timeline xD

- ??? - Life On BP Began (formelly known as "Earth" by "The First men")

- ??? - The first men began to build, harvest resources and prosper in education

- 1522 SY (Sun Year, BP's circulation around it's Sun) - first men explorer ferdinand Magellan and his crew became the first men to travel around BP using a Sea ship made entirely out of organic material made from trees called "Wood" and using BP's once natural weather for movement across the seas

-16XX SY- research began on using electricity by the firstmen as a source of power and using other wild creatures on BP to do their transportations and everyday activities

-19xx The first men successfully invented the first electric powered motor which lead to a booming in technology and lifestyle

-1945 SY -scientist J Robert Oppenheimer successfully tested the first generation of nuclear weaponry, which lead to a massive uproar by the old colonies in BP, and wars reigned on their cities.

-

-197X SY- The first men discover a large hole in one of the stratospheric layers of BP which they called the OZONE layer

-2006 SY-  Panic arises as the first men discover what would seem the first signs of death of the ozone layer, as the devestation became much more severe.

-2009 SY- the first men began to discover signs of life outside of BP , which led them to begin working on their future outside of BP.

-2015 SY- signs of water overflowing as more ice began to melt creating an unbalancing in BP's atmosphere.

-2017 SY-  the first men began on building prototypes of what would then become the first generation of statuibs known as the CS (Colonical Station)  , dubbed "Space Stations"

-2045 SY- the first men succeded in the creation of the first ever Colonical Station designed to be a safe haven for one of the leading colonies on BP, this first CS was named CS-1 , codenamed "The Purgatory"

-2046 SY- other colonies quickly began working on their own Colonist station , as "the race to build home" era began.

-2050 SY- the colonies successfully created eleven other first generation CS, dubbed CS2 to CS12 in their order of creation

-2067 SY- the first men sucessfully launched one of the first colonical stations after multiple failed attempts , thus leading to the birth of a group of men who would be known as "The Colonists"

-2075 SY- the colonists quickly realized the limitations of using a rare substance formelly known as "Oil" as their power source and began experimenting nuclear power, which led to rebuilding and restructuring fo the CS , and thus creating the second generation wave of CSs.

-2079 SY- after multiple attempts in harnessing the raw nuclear power as a power source for the CS, disaster hits one of the colonical stations by failing to control the radioactive energy emitted by their nuclear reactor , leading to the destruction of CS 3 and CSII, which then both collapsed onto the ocean of BP which created a rise in the water level, destroying nearby cities and leaving them to ashes, this catastrophe let to a giant halt in human advancement, and fuiled a backlash between "The first Men" (the humans who lived on BP) and "The Colonists"(the humans who tried to find life outside of BP), this lead to the creation of a dark era called "The Age Of Shadows"

----PS by the way this Era in timeline is greatly inspired by this song, you might as well just listen to it , while reading that last part -

-

-2078 SY- due to the massive radiation caused by the ruined CSs , the OZONE layer of BP quickly die out , melting mountains and ice rising water levels (lol look at that photo there, thats basically sums it up)

-2088 SY- colonist fearing the ineventable , after many failed attempts, were able to finally control the raw nuclear power thus gave birth to the first generation of "IEC" (Ionic Energy Cells), powerful nuclear reactors that can run on pure raw ionic enegry without any dangers of radiations and power limits, thus creating third generation of CSs that are build upon IEC elemenating any use of Oils and nuclear sources

-2090 SY- "The Great Flood" a catastrophic disaster that struck BP as the result of melting ice and the raise of water levels from the rapid increases of heat on the now almost non existing OZONE layer. drowning almost all life on BP leaving very few small lands and very fewer survivors, this lead to the devastation of "The first men" leading to them abandoning what was left of their lands, leaving behind them drowned cities and joining the colonists.

-2119 SY- new rise of technology began booming as excessive research on "IEC" began, thus lead to the creations of "The Harvesters", colossal structures designed to harvest water supplies from BP and reserving it's circulations of animal life and plants of what left of them on it's "Earth" surface. thus blocking out the dangerous sun rays from it making what was originally known as "Earth" now be called "BP" (Black Planet)

-2121 SY- as research on IEC technology prosperred , the colonists created a man made replica of the sun that circulates  around BP, though smaller in size, but in the same radius and intensity as it's energy, this revolutionary creation is later called "The Luminous" leading to the recreation of the CS structures , giving birth of the fourth generation of CSs, this advancement in technology gave birth to a new calender era called "LY" (The Luminic Year) thus making "SY" (Sun year) obsolete, and also put an end of the long lived "Age Of Shadows" era.

- 3 LY (Luminic Year) -

research began on using the power of IEC to transport physical matters in IONIC speed , many attempts have returned in failuree until professor Snyder Hartland began experimenting with electro-magnetic currents, he experimented on inanimate objects , and succeeded.

- 4 LY -

as snyder's research began to prosper he began using live organics such as rats and monkeys , the subjects however, always turn out to be burned to a crisp.

- 5 LY -

the snyder team began to build a plantinum alloyed cage rather than normal cages, which are resistant to flamability , they then tried launching it in IONIC speed, the results were semi sucessful , as the subjects didn't burn , but lived very shortly, due to the  brutal force reaction on sudden stop, leading to inner bleeding of the brains, thus snyder began experimented with ways to prevent the stop to become smoother , which led to what is now known as the "EMGBS" (Electro-magnatic gravitational braking system) , platinum made magnatic devices which alter the gravity and the force a moving object during it's stop.

- 6 LY -

Snyder succusfully launched the first ever living creature with no side effects through IONIC speed, this creature is a monkey called SPEKTER, thus leading to work on using IONIC launching commercially , and in public, which gave birth to the "Beacons" , giant structures with high powered IEC that are built to transport ships and cargo across spaces and between CS's.

(by the way, for all you Ape Escape fans, this is a little nod to Specter if you haven't noticed already , and another game influence is the beacons, they're a lot like Mass Relays from Mass effect if you not noticed already )

- 9 LY -

the colonists succesfully created a working beacon capable of launching entire CSs , and also succesfully worked on consumable versions of these beacons that can be attached to smaller ships to fast travel in smaller distances , these smaller versions have to be recharged however, this invention lead CSs to launch themselves awy from each other and away from BP in hope of exploring the space and finding new planets to live onto.

- 12 LY -

since trasporting of cargo became a lot easier between CSs , security in SCs became tighter, as each colonical station began building mounted weaponary and mutliple checkpoints around it's own Station , which gave the rise of many space outlaws and smugglers that colonists call "The Drifters" and that who becomes a "Drifter" is politically expelled from his own CS , thus leaving him/her stranded in space.

- 20 LY - The drifter commonly known as "The Matyr" and/or "The Drifter King" , began gathering a gang of drifters from all around space and formed a tight knitted goal of creating their own CS from abandoned parts of CS3 and CS11 (which were destroyed in the age of shadows era) , this gang would then be known as "The Elysian Fields" as they're recognized by a sigil they were around their necks

-29 LY -

The Elysian Fields sucessfully finished completing on building their own CS , which is then would be known as "The Elyzium"

A couple of my favorite books are China Mieville: The Scar and M. John Harrison: Light.

I used to write here and there, haven't done it in a long time. Most of it got deleted when my old computer died. I recovered a few bits and pieces. Here's a bit:

Most of my once valuable ties, relationships I grew and cultivated with care and patience, friends for whom I have loved, all have languished and withered on the tenuous vines of my apathy. This is a page in my life. Do I turn that page? Do I let the past die and forgo the indignation of humility or humiliation; do I attempt to retie the loosening knots and just accept the frayed ends?

I am turning the page. It's a burden at once lifted, and yet a dark cloud will loom forever in the back of my mind. I am moving on. I want something less real, possibly manufactured? A synthesized state of being, a material from outer-space, one that is impossibly durable and flexible and void of emotion. This is what I will wear over my cold skin.

Welcome to my imaginary life.

Thats why i write with paper first, then rewrite it on the computer, also I somehow feel a bit more imaginative when I am using a pen, because on computer I get distracted with most things online.

From the other thread too...

Material for writers new and old. You need a 4share account and a way to open .odts:

(Legal disclaimer: this material was avaliable for free on the internet from the start and is being shared without commercial intention. All credits go to the author.)

Also is worth checking out the Planetocopia, the best worldbuilding out there I've seen, but be sure to read the page the artist explains his motives before coming with what I'd call the obvious gripes.

I find both to be really useful to expand and perfect your writing and worldbuilding. Be sure to check it out, it's worth it.

@PullusPardus

Yes, I'm aware of pen and paper (sarcasm)

I started working construction when I was pretty young,  and any dexterity I had that lent itself to writing with pen and paper was gone by my early 20s. I haven't felt inspired to write anything in years, so it's no big deal.

I tend to piss away much of my free time on writing. Mostly fanfiction, which i've felt has improved my ability to address, explore, and develop characters

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Here is an excerpt of an essay I wrote recently...tell me what you think:

"Everyday, people are bombarded by the effects of technology. Televisions, internet, electronic billboards and iPods have become part of the lives of every American living today. Like a nationwide Times Square, everywhere a person turns they can find promotion of a technological product being championed to the masses. Adults in the workforce who must adapt to the ever-changing nature of technology may find trouble adjusting, while the children of the world may have too much time on their hands learning how to work the newest technological device. Although technology provides efficient and convenient ways of interaction and collection of information, it can cause problems when used in excess and abuse of privacy." -Copyright SaviorX
