as for Lightning, the most likely candidate from Final Fantasy will be here, but I honestly hope she isn't as she's the least interesting lead character next to Vaan. Rinoa, Yuna, Garnet, tifa, Celes, Terra, or Rosa would all be better FF Females.

The word is there are at least 3 female characters in the game...and Tomb Raider WILL NOT BE IN THIS. so don't have your hopes up for her. But yea Nariko would be badass...

Superbot confirmed every character having a rivalry and a story to them. So far the only rivalry we know is between Toro and Heiachi. 

so my guess/hope is that we will see the following two rivalries

Drake vs Sweet Tooth (as fans know Drake hates clowns and is scared of them...would make PERFECT sense)
Kratos vs Nariko (will be soooo good...)

I like lighting as a character even though her game is mediocre.

Absolutley. All would be great additions. 

I'd be kind of disappointed if they decided to use female FF characters simply because they need more girls at this point. I feel that would be robbing the fans of more popular characters like Cloud or Seph just because they ran into a problem and went "Oh sh** we need more girls"

Next reveal should either be Tifa or Sephiroth :D
