If you go onto the EA Origin store, you’ll see a huge surprise. Whether or not it’s a leak  is unknown, but it seems Battlefield 4 was just confirmed. Check the Origin store for yourself if you think this is fake, go to the Medal of Honor Digital Deluxe Edition.  The listing can be found by going to the genre tab, then shooters and there it is, banner an all.

We’ve reached out to EA for comment on the listing. It’s a bit surprising to see this listing with the lead game designer from DICE leaving the team today. According to earlier reports, EA stated that they would be doing a switch off every year between Medal of Honor and the Battlefield franchises. Considering Medal of Honor releases this year, DICE would have been working on Battlefield 4 soon after 3 released. Will continue to follow this developing story, so stay tuned.

It seems the Official Battlefield page on Twitter is keen on staying tight lipped on the subject of the Battlefield 4 rumor/confirmation flying around tonight. In a response to a tweet we sent to him asking if he had any comment on the page, all he could say was “stay tuned”. Obviously that was expected, but he also stated in the Tweet that we should basically keep a close eye on the Official Battlefield site for “the real scoop”. Checkout the tweet below.

I really like EA's very clever strategy. They switch between two very similar franchises, MOH and BF every year. Both of them modern FPS. It makes it look like they are only releasing them once every 2 years but in reality they are milking the FPS market just as much as COD with a yearly release.

As for this game, I hope its next gen because BF3 has probably squeezed out everything current gen could offer. I want to see what Frostbite can do with its full power unleashed next gen.

Hmm... Not sure if I should actually buy Battlefield 4 after release. Battlefield 3 got pretty much everything (regarding multiplayer action) covered, and it's not like there will be an interesting single player story to look forward to.

Nothing is set in stone, but I expect to return to the series with Battlefield  5.
