Forums - Sports Discussion - So the Miami Heat attain Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis

Tagged games:

Chicago is sort of overrated, the heat destroyed them with rose at his peak in 2011.. Rose was injured teh majority of last year.. so this year he should make a comeback.. but probably not at that 2011 MVP level he was at.. just yet..

If the Lakers get Dwight Howard, then the heat have a huge competitor to go up against, Miami will most likely reach the finals for the 3rd straight year..

I can't really blame Allen for his decision.
There's really only four logical teams, imo, that he can go to: Lakers, Thunders, Bulls, or Heat. Lakers is a little unpredictable at this time, what with the inclusion of Steve Nash and his lack of defensive skills. Thunders is too much of a young team for him to need him and all they really need to do is fine tune Westbrook and Ibaka. Personally, I would've love for him to have taken a sixth-man role with the Bulls but in all reality it seems Heat needed more experienced player, as well as role players which Allen and Lewis should be able to provide.

hate to break it to you, but Nash isn't any worse on defence that say Sessions or D.Fish was. But Nash is a great distributor, top 3 in the NBA and a prolific scorer. Even at his age, he hasn't slowed down at all with his fantastic conditioning. Nash wants a ring right now, and I think he deserves one.

Sessions may be a good mix with Kobe and Nash but 'any worse' isn't a good argument. Defense is really what wins championships. Fisher was a great role player that complimented Kobe and Shaq well. Either way, we'll definitely see as I still don't see them being able to match the Thunders.

EDIT: I should clarify that I do agree with Nash over Sessions, and emphasize on Shaq in regards to Fisher's role.

The Heat are definitely going to be much better next season. Not to mention, other teams are doing good moves too. I do think the Heat have what it takes to reach the Finals again. The only threats would be Chicago, if Rose isn't slowed down, and the Nets, if they can land Howard.

Really man, really. You're so biased. Nets won't make it past the first round.

Bryant

Gasol

Bynum (maybe Howard)

Nash

Artest

This lineup looks better than Miami's if you ask me. Unlike the Heat, the Lakers starting 5, they don't do the same thing. You can say Lebron and Wade are the same guy. Miami doesn't have a Bynum, let alone if they get Howard. They also have Bosh, who isn't no Gasol. The Lakers now, they all fit in with their roles. Never had the Lakers had a PG in any of Kobe's years, and look how successful they still were. Not gonna lie, so excited to see what Nash can give to the Lakers, cause it might be the Sun itself. They should have gotten CP3 last year, so it's only fair that they get their man this time round. If you're a true BBall fan like myself, I don't know how this move can't get you excited in some way. I am not even a Nash fan, and I love this. I feel happy for the guy, and hope he can win a ring. He has giving everything, well not yet, to his past team without anything to show for it. And you still got Sessions to learn from Nash, which is great for his developement I think. Not only that but Sessions leading the 2nd unit is fantastic, less pressure too which will help him in all aspects.

Bosh is better than Gasol.. Lebron is the best player in the league almost by far, wade is probably top 5 in the league after his injury.. if not he'd be #2.. or #3, ray allen is an all star..

A few things. First, you didn't get the hint that I was talking about the East even though I said they could reach the Finals again; I didn't say the HEAT NUMBER 1, REPEAT!!!!!11

Second, Im the biased one? "a Bynum" "...Bosh, who isn't no Gasol" That made me roffle. No need to show your yellow and purple face.

Finally, you sound the usual blind Laker fan that I put up with everyday (I live in LA). As a sports enthusiast, I can recognize and give credit to teams, players, and talent when I see it  regardless of team, not just boast the team I root for over others.

No where in my post did I discuss the Western Conference and any team from it so I will do so now. Nash going to LA has definitely made them a better team. We all have yet to see how it's going to work, Nash is the playmaker, not Kobe. This will give the oportunity for Gasol and Bynum to reach their potential and stay consistent. I think the Thunder still have the upper hand thanks to the younger, healthier legs. And lets not forget about the Clippers and Grizzlies who are rising teams; the Clippers too should be better this coming season.

Howard is the best Center in the world right now and the best defender as well but Bynum is not so far behind him. I don´t see a reason for the Lakers to get Howard.

Its a Supersonics reunion!

The Heat will probably repeat but in order to get respect from most of the sports media and the fans they need to at least three peat since LeBron, Wade and Bosh where talking so much smack when they first got together and everybody over hyped them.
