Etrian Oddysey did less than I expected, more in line with previous games in the series and not an improvement like I thought it would be... but it's good numbers still.
3DS is going to stay meh until the XL arrives... so meh.
Vita... well, back to the sub-10/over 10k drama, I guess.
And Dokuro! I predicted 5k for you and you didn't managed even that??
All in all, Etrian Oddysey became the best selling game in the series FW, but I don't know, I expected more

Yeah, I agree, the wait affects software sales too to a certain degree. It's too bad 3 important games for the 3DS can be affected by this - Etrian Oddysey, Rune Factory and Taiko Drum Master.
Anyway... 17 days to go XL!

Well the game was sold out at pretty much all the shops I went to in my area. I'm guessing the shipment must've been about 100k or so. If they would've shipped more sales would've been higher.
I just managed to see the game in stock at a game store in a small city in the next prefecture over from me! That city is pretty small and luckily they still had the pre-order bonus for 3 copies of the game!
Anyway, I caved and picked up the game along with the bonus soundtrack (I'm sure my gf will enjoy the game when she has time to play it, hehe. ;-p )

What's with all those sold-out games... are publishers really underestimating the powah of the threedeeASS by that much?
Anyway, nice catch! I never played the previous games, but I'm very very curious to try them. Do they share a storyline, or beggining with III is ok?

I'm not sure, maybe they're just trying to be conservative. Atlus might've thought that this game would sell in line with the previous game(s), so that's what they shipped. Anyway, MC numbers should be coming out soon, maybe we'll get some idea of the shipment?
I have no idea as I've never played any of the games myself. This game is for my gf as she likes those dungeon crawler games. (She played EO1/EO2 as well as others like the Wizardry games and Elminage games.)
