PS2 was outselling the PS3 until 2008 wasnt it? Seems to be the standard for Sony.

I don't think it happened with the PS2 over the PSX. Seems to be the gen7 onward standard, but not the Sony standard.

Vita is still struggling with slow sales, but it will get over that sometime in the future, just like Ps3 did. Sony will definetely drop its price someday, but not for now because they´re still in a loss with the product. Vita isn´t doomed, but it will still take a while until its sales get a boost.

i don't agree, don't forget the digital ver. PSP games will still be compatible with Vita, and i think now a days most PSP games will have digital ver. for Vita only owners, so to develop PSP ver. games is still a better choice to sell better cause that both PSP only owners and Vita only owners all can purchase it

I remember the PS2 also having a bit of a rough start.

Hardware sold like crazy - it was the cheapest DVD player in japan, by far, but not games - japan launch line-up was abysmal.But still miles above Vita.

Next Gen Portable (NGP - basically the same name as the SNK system with non-fancy words) was really a bad name choice for Vita... attracted bad energies! :)

PS2 was still getting a shit-tonne of high profile releases well after the PS3 was released.  God of War 2 and Final Fantasy XII are the two that spring to mind.
