Can it be? Specific Monster Hunter news for the west? Kind of!

Capcom’s Christian Svensson said on the company’s official message boards today that there will be news for overseas Monster Hunter before year’s end. His specific quote states that there will be “some sort of information before the end of this calendar year.”

According to Svensson:

“Ok, part one, I’m not aware of anyone from Capcom saying ‘wait for comic-con’. Perhaps fan speculation. I will be more clear than I have ever been… Western MH fans should have some sort of information before the end of this calendar year. I can’t say more than that unfortuntaely though I would love to.”

This is definitely the clearest Svensson has been regarding Western Monster Hunter updates. Let’s just hope that this “information” will result in an overseas announcement of Tri G and/or MH4.

Well, MH 3G news for me. I think it'll be too early for MH 4 news and MHP3rd is out of question, imo.

Unless the news is "sorry, suckers, no MH for you", but capcom wouldn't be so mean! Or would they???

Anyway, with the "big megaman" news coming (which I think includes/is the revival of Legends 3) and now this... I'll have to hype these annoncements of announcements... the worst kind of hyping!!!

I'm going with the "Sorry suckers, no MH for you!" story.

Well their name is Crapcom so I guess tacking on another nickname to that wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Crapcom The Game Nazi's" is their new, Official, name.

Monster Hunter 4 has been cancelled for the 3DS and has been moved to the Vita.

Highly likely.

I hope it's Monster Hunter 4 for the west, highly doubt it since it is at least 1 year away for the release in Japan, but I can dream. If it is Monster hunter 3G then meh, I'm not really that excited for that one.

We have these possibilities, I'll put them in order of least likely to most likely to happne to me.

Most sold MH ever, but... PSP is techncally dead in the west. Could still be tranlated for a PSN/Vita release, but I woundn't count on it - since it's almost 2 years old by now.

To me it's almost impossible for this not to come west, but since it'll be released mid of next year in Japan, announcing it for the west so soon is very unlikely

Not entirely out of the realm of possibilities. I can see this one happening, though it's not likely. For Sony fans, this is the best they can hope, imo.

This leads us to the only "logical" answer, if the info Sven gave is true. To me, it's a 99% certain release, but I'll have to wait to eliminate the always cruel 1%.

^Vic, what about a whole new westernized version of the game though? Remember how capcom's been trying to capture the Western audience with MH using MHTri? Well that worked but not super well. Maybe their going more aggressive?
