Forums - Microsoft - Update: Halo 2 Anniversary not in Development "At This Time"

YES! I will buy this day one. I hope it's for Xbox 360 so I can have the original trilogy all on one machine in HD. If there's a collectors edition I'll be getting it no matter the price. Halo 2 has one of my favorite campaigns.

Nothing beats Halo. It's a good time to be a fan because we don't have to wait forever between games like we used to.

I got Halo 2 but I've never finished it. I just bought it because I liked Halo 3 so much. I went back and bought 1 and 2. Recently, I replayed Halo Reach and I loved it so much (more than my first playthrough. I don't know what changed) that I went back and bought Anniversary and ODST. We're almost done with Anniversary (my co-pilot hasn't been around to help me finish the last two levels) and then I want to jump directly into Halo 2. If I can avoid the Xbox 1 game and jump into a 360 re-make, I will buy this game on day one. But if this is going to happen, they'd better announce it quickly. Once I play Halo 2, I'll probably hesitate to buy the remake.

i expected this to be honest, it seems microsoft want to make halo an annual thing (and milk the franchise to death as well)

i really dont know what halo 2's release date has to do with anything. halo ODST released 2009, reach 2010,halo CEA 2011 and halo 4 is coming in 2012, if they want to make an anual release next year its a logical step to release halo 2 anniversary in 2013. thats what im saying. are they milking the franchise? yes, there is no way you can tell me they are not.

Anniversary edition is 10 years after, not 9 so it'd be 2014.

Clear now why the release matters?

Milk on MS, I love quality milk.

but its completely fine for sony and nintendo to remake all their classics, right? I really don't understand this. A remake is just that, a remake. Its not like they are pumping out a full fledged halo every year. The main games have always had and will continue to have 2 year dev cycles if not longer. Which is about as long as most popular sony and nintendo ips.

All mainline Halo's (CE, 2, 3, Reach) have had 3 years. ;) Halo 4 about 4 years when it's done.

dude , calm down ok?just chill, cool? i dont want to start an arguement here over sony, nintendo, MS, atari or sega or what ever. first of all they make remake these games and give them a huge market push, they dont just import them. second nintendo dont remake all their classics they just made a couple for the 3DS. third sony, nintendo, MS, EA, Activision, Konami, Campcom... ect  all milk there games get over it. is halo being milked? yes, but so is god of war i dont think to the extent of halo but its close. but can you deny the fact that halo has become an annual franchise? no. can you deny that they are milking halo? no. i didnt mention sony or nintendo or what they do with their games. you just assumed im here to attack halo. i just comented on what i think MS or gonna do with halo, simple as that
