They actually developed two different user interfaces, one for console and for PC, that complement each platform interface strengths.  I haven't tried the console demo (if one exists), but those who have say it plays great.

I've played the demo (soooo short...) and I can tell you that controller or mouse/keyboards, both are good. (I actually started with a mouse and then played with my Xbox 360 controller). As this is not an RTS and you have all the time you want to move your units; and the gameplay felt alright with a controller.

I do not think there is any option to play it with a mouse/keyboard on console versions.

Yes, it's Dune. You are the first one to get it (not that many have tryed as far as I know).

I did not manage to run the demo on my machine yesterday evening :(. I even reinstalled steam and downloaded the demo 3 times (rather quickly I have a good connection), but when I run it, a popup stating that the game starts appears for less than a second and then nothing whatsoever. Damn it.

You aren't running Windows XP are you?  Game requires Win7 (vista?) or above.

From what I've seen the game is amazing.
