Can I play Xenoblade chronicles without the classic controller?

I have gamecube controllers or wii remote/nunchuck as options. Is that enough?

Yes, You can use yhe wii-remote and nunchuck combo to play.

The classic controller has better camera controls due to the dual analog sticks.

Sadly you can't use the gamecube controller, at least to my knowledge.

I tried both playing stiles and I though Wiimote and Nunchuck were the best for me. You will know when you play it, but it's much easier to move around while choosing skills with the wiimote+nunchuck than with the classic controler. I had none of the problems mentioned with the camera. I just adjusted the camera movement speed and I was fine.
