If they include a zombie co-op mode, I really hope they take notes from left for dead. The adventure type game played really is more engaging than being in some confined arena or area.

It adds an additional level of spontaneity when the levels are so vast and open with little pre-decided gameplay. You'll never know when an enemy will show and what enemy it'll be. It adds an extreme layer of tension as you know you never have time to relax and take a breather, because is you drop your guard for one second, then the enemy could rush you. Also, with the larger maps, teamwork really becomes an element that people have to work towards. Unlike most co-op games that take place on arenas or rooms where you are always at a xlose distance from your teammates and you're always following the same path at the same pace.

With a formula like Left 4 Dead, you could potentially get abandoned by your teammates if they decide to push forward while you decide to go Fanboy and rack up extra kills. Next thing you know, you're 25% percent of the way to the end, while your team is 60% percent of the way done. Or maybe they think up an entirely new method of co-op better than Left 4 Dead, but that may be too big of a request for Naughty Dog.

Have you seen a PC mod for Arma II called Day Z.

Your post reminded me of this mod and I can actually see it working in the scenario of this game but one can only imagine.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if the multiplayer is extremely similar to Uncharted 3. I love Uncharted 3 multiplayer. I'm actually gonna run on and play it now.

Not familiar with PC gaming, so no. And id hope the mp isn't extremely similar to uc3. As far as the modes are concerned anyway. I'm sure controls & the like will be similar.

Why in the world would you not want this?

for the same reason you would not want mulitplayer in zelda

Multiplayer gets way too much focus these days. Let's just hope they don't divert too may resources away from the campaign.

but...that is a good thing isnt it?

See, that would make no sense. This does.

it doesn't. All I can see happening to this game is becoming another COD if they are not careful. There is enough of those types of games already. A nice epic single player is what this game can achieve (and has shown so far in videos released).

i want a multiplayer where i can jump in any time in another players game as a zombie

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

as long as it won't affect singleplayer, why not...

What game got affected by adding MP?

Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 3

Battlefield 3

All have forgettable campaigns. BF3 is the worst offender. I've played through MW2 campaign probably 4 times looking for Intel for the trophies, and the MW3 campaign 3 times so far, and at least they are enjoyable, just short. BF3 is very forgettable though, the only mission I actually wanna play again is the dogfight, and I'm not a huge fan of the whole scripted mission either. At least when in combate you can choose who to shoot. Dogfight is completely linear.

I'm sorry, but with all due respect, you are 100% wrong about Battlefield 3. You may be right about the single player portion of the game being forgettable. But you are wrong about the MP ruining the SP.

And here's why:

The Battlefield games never had real single player story modes before BF3. They tacked it on as a way to compete with COD. The battlefield series was always about big multiplayer matches and untill BF3 the seriese only had bots as an option for offline play.

As for Modern Warfare 2 and 3. I thought the SP in both was fun like a big action movie blockbuster. No more forgetable than a flick like ID4.

I was complaining mostly about the length of MW campaigns. They are fun, just short and that takes away from the whole thing. Not having an in-depth story makes it more forgettable.

Why include the single player in BF3 then? If you aren't gonna make it good, then don't include it. And you are wrong, Bad Company games had campaigns, and Bad Company 2 was quite fun.

Whether or not to include a single player campaign in a multiplayer game is another topic all together. Someone asked the question "What game got affected by adding MP?" You gave Battlefield 3 as an example. But BF3 didn't add multiplayer, it added single player.

As for the Bad Company games, they are spin offs. The simply titled Battlefield series itself did not have a story mode until BF3. But it doesn't really matter because nobody is argueing that adding a story mode ruins the multiplayer. People are complaining about multiplayer being shoe horned into singleplayer games. Battlefield 3 is the exact opposite of that.
