Good job we're gamers and not Eat Sleep Play and Lightbox Interactive's accountants, then!

True! But it's annoying when proper good games don't sell.
It's another step to a company not taking risks and releasing a cod clone to make sure it sells.

I'm sad that Starhawk isn't selling more.  It's inventive, the multiplayer is massive amounts of fun, the game feels polished and LBI is giving a lot of attention to balance.  It's the kind of game that deserves to house a massive community, especially compared to the care Infinity Ward give to Call of Duty (for example).

But such is life.  Sony didn't have the budget/didn't feel the need to hype the game up that much.  It's following on from Warhawk which was a great but niche game - it's housed a dedicated small community all its life.  I suspect they were thinking Starhawk will be along the same lines, which it probably will be.  In addition, it's probably not the easiest game to drop into and pick up quickly like you can with Call of Duty.  I've been playing Starhawk for 5 days now and there's still things I don't understand about the multiplayer :P

Twisted Metal got better sales than it deserved though.  It is an incredible game, which had an awful online portion for far too long before it was fixed.  I think David Jaffe is amazing, but why he didn't have a beta for the game I'll never know.

I have always felt Sony was the most interesting with the exclusive approach. Instead of rapidly building upon their top IPs like Nintendo does or invest in proven blockbusters like MS, they just seem to throw out new ideas randomly....not quite sure how the gamers will react to them.

You get successes like Uncharted and LBP with this approach, but on the other hand you get many more under the radar sales like Starhawk, Motorstorm Apocalypse, etc.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Sony do have a good approach. You need a good balance of old ip's and fresh ip's and Sony have a good balance right now

I still think 2009 & 2008 were the best years for Ps3 exclusives.

Next year will be the best PS3 year. The Last of Us, God of War, Beyond and Wonderbook

I agree. But I want to see more of Beyond besides the teaser trailer we saw at E3. I want gameplay and more details to see what this game is about. The last of Us is the hottest thing out there right now imo.
