EA release some fantastic games so this is great news for future Wii U owners

LOL!

What's lollable? Mass Effect, Battlefeild, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, FIFA... these are some brilliant games. And who knows what they'll bring to next gen. You'd be missing out on a lot, again, if you were to miss out on EA. Suit yourself I guess.

Seeing as how they messed Dead Space 3 up, which almost everyone agrees, they aren't the best company to have "Supporting" your new console.

Plus, we already have Mass Effect 3. And I don't even care for FIFA. BattleField is really the only good game, so far, up there.

Exactly, Nintendo have got Mass Effect 3. If they didn't have EAs support they wouldn't. Dead Space is still a fantastic series, at least 1 and 2 are, and Nintendo missed out on them this gen. As they missed out on Battlefield, Mirrors Edge, SSX, Skate, FIFA, Burnout, Crysis... I mean as a consumer surely you would want publisher that publishes so many quality titles to publish them on your system of choice right? They'll positively be launching new IPs next gen along with proven franchises, you'd have to be insane to want to miss out on it.

I could care less about the games that are crossed out. EA is not my favorite company.

But still, the Wii U is banking on attracting the core audience back again, from PS360. They need as much 3rd party as they can get, and EA is among the biggest publishers. I just don't understand how this isn't good news, whether you like their IP or not. If they don't get EA's support, it's Nintendo's loss as a company and your loss as a consumer. Ah well, I won't argue with you on this.

Well, you can look at it in a sarcastic way and say that the 2 games are Madden and Fifa, or take that "holding fire" sentence a bit more literal and think those games are Dead Space 3 and Medal of Honor.

Lol. I was thinking Madden and Fifa as well.

I doubt support from EA could change a PS360 gamers mind on which console to buy next-gen. They are set in their ways. I think Nintendo's main idea was to attract the Core Nintendo Fans who didn't buy the Wii, not necessarily get the PS360 FanBase in on the action. Because that would fail either way unless they get exclusivity.

Dead Space ... Nintendo missed out on them this gen. As they missed out on SSX, Skate, FIFA

The ones I left in the quote, Nintendo didn't actually "miss out on". We got Dead Space: Extraction. We got SSX Blur. We got Skate It. We got FIFA 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12, and will get 13 on Wii, too.

What EA did, though, was put crap on the system. In large quantities, and it got worse as the generation continued. SSX Blur was quite decent in 2007, and EA could have followed it up with a solid Balance Board based SSX... but didn't. Skate It released in 2008, an outsold the PS3 version of Skate (released in 2007), and wasn't that far behind the Xbox 360 version. 2008 also brought their "casualised" Madden, NCAA, etc - and that was a majorly bad idea. And then Dead Space: Extraction came in 2009, and was absolute crap, relative to expectations.

Since then, the only quality that EA has put on the Wii has been Tiger Woods. The only other even-notable thing they put on the Wii since then was NBA Jam... and they tried their hardest to sabotage it. The Wii version still managed to outsell the other two versions, but there's a reason why none of the versions managed to break 400,000 copies.

FIFA 08 on Wii Sold 1.01M.
FIFA 11 on Wii Sold 1.11M.

With that i wanna see, i hope they are not two sports games, because i hate, aside from tennis witch i love. XD

Exactly, the Wii got sub-par spinoffs. They're still decent games, but not as good as Dead Space 1/2, SSX and Skate 1/2/3.

We got FIFA 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12, and will get 13 on Wii, too.

Same thing here, they're lacking so many features and so many things are different. It isn't the same game as the games on PS360/PC, not by any stretch of the imagination.

@Last two para well there you go, you don't want 3rd party pubs to put sub-par BS titles on your system, you want the best game possible. The one they wanted to make. You're insane if you think they puposely sabotaged their wii games though. why in the world would they do that? They are a business, there only bias is where the money is and if the Wii isn't making a big profit it only makes sense to allow devs to focus on the better, more profitable versions on the get other, smaller and less talented teams to work on the worse, less profitable version.
