People should just wait for the Xbox 361 which is supposedly coming out later this year - and at the rate things are going, it should be selling for around $150 at most.

so  Xbox 361 is true?

i would never get into a monthly fee deal for a system. my phone, internet and TV is enough as it bloody is.

So if all the next-gen consoles were only to launch with a subsciption plan, you wouldn't get any of them?

Theoretically off course, as we all know that won't happen.

If something like that were to happen, I would probably end up being a PC gamer.

You seem to be under the illusion that subscription plans won't just be an option.

I'm sure buying the console outright will always be an option. For big spenders like yourself.

No that isnt what I meant, I meant from what he said @ bolded in his post. My response was to him saying if subscription is the ONLY way.

My mistake, I missed that.

Now its just a ridiculous question.

Why thank you.

or you can buy the old xbox white consoles, and a 120gb hard drive for about $200.

LOL 14,99/month is a "deal"?

More like a scam.

I don't see this helping sales much, it's a terrible deal.

I disagree. I can see this giving a nice boost during the holidays.

For a measly $99, kids are going to have Xbox 360 and Kinect this Christmas. The $15 a month there after is chump change.

deal/dēl/

Noun:

  1. An agreement entered into by two or more parties for their mutual benefit, esp. in a business or political context.

If both feel they benefit then its a deal.

scam/skam/

Noun:A dishonest scheme; a fraud.

Consumers already know what they're going to spend. $99 upfront and 24 payments of $15. Where is the scam?

It's not a scam but personally i think it's basically like getting something from rent a center. You're getting butt fucked in the end.

Kids : mom i want a Xbox its just 99$

Mom : ok lets buy it.

Kids : ohhh awesome now i can play Call of Duty :D

Mom : oh 15$ per month thats so cheap

Kids : yeah lets take it

ohohoh = big holiday for Xbox. Again.

This could be confirmation that there will be no price cut for the 360 for another 2 years or so. If MS cuts price for the holidays then everyone who is on contract is still having to pay $14.99/month ($300) for a system that is now selling at $199. Basically if MS cuts the price then whoever bought the console (on contract pre-price-cut) is paying twice as much. Stay away from this scam people. Save up and buy instead.

Edit - Since people don't like the word scam being used then I will instead use the word 'Illusion'.
